Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is about to get a refreshing boost of new energy with 4 new maps.  The Variety Map Pack will be available on April 10 (a week after the previous April 3 mention).  Although the date has changed, the price has not so get ready to dish out the same 800 Microsoft Points for them.

The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. “Creek” is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In “Broadcast,” fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. “Chinatown” is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. “Killhouse” features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.

The next time you fire up Call of Duty 4 and connect to Xbox Live you’ll be prompted for the latest patch to fix a few issues with the game.  Fans of the game should be happy with the new things this update brings.

Host migration, improved accuracy for snipers and ACOG scope users, an expanded Kill Cam,  upgraded Spectator Cam, a Quick Mute option and a few other fixes.

[Update] - My buddy Robert (402) from Infinity Ward posted all the update details.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

One of our good friends in the UK wanted to share some news about the inclusion of Xbox 360 games in a UK league system.  Enemy Down is taking a momentous step in online gaming, increasing their already impressive online gaming league to branch out into the console gaming scene.  It’s an impressive first for the already established league system to provide a place where both console and PC gamers can unite and play together.

Enemy Down

Enemy Down will be picking up and supporting leagues for Activision’s Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360, where it has already created a successful league for the Xbox 360’s impressive sister over on the PC.  This is fantastic news for European and UK based CoD4 gamers, bringing a wealth of experience in to create a fully supported, dedicated online gaming league. I hope all of our UK friends will be able to dish massive amounts of frags to each other now.  Good luck, godspeed and start leveling up quickly!  Thanks for the news Mr. Campo.

It seems like everyone is getting in on the anniversary of Xbox Live.  Infinity Ward is starting a Call of Duty 4 Live Fire event today with a 72-hour Play & Win Sweepstakes full of games and prizes.  Hourly prizes will be awarded all weekend, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare shirts, Infinity Ward autographed posters and Xbox LIVE point cards.

One lucky person will win an Xbox 360 Elite console and a Limited Edition Call of Duty 4:
Modern Warfare faceplate, among other items.  How do you win?  Simply register and play COD4: Modern Warfare on Xbox Live.  You have to register before it all ends on Sunday, November 18.

Register and get all the details about the Play & Win over at Xbox.com.

Call of Duty 4: MW

I don’t have it but there’s no mistaking the hype surrounding Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.  Infinity Ward returns to the series and this time they take it to a different era.  Are you ready for modern warfare, perks and crazy multiplayer action?

If you have it, smile at the fact that you’re playing U360’s Play of the Week game.  And that totally makes you famous in a not-really-famous kind of way.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Do you want to be amongst the first to play Call of Duy 4: Modern Warfare?  Activision and Infinity Ward are inviting players to be amongst the first to play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at select Gamestop locations.  This goes down on Wednesday, October 17th.  Those who get there at 2100 hrs (9:00pm, local standard time) will get the chance to try out the single player version before the game’s release on November 6th.

The locations chosen for this event are Dallas, Houston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Minneapolis.  You can find out the details at each location here.  Make sure you’re 17 years of age or older because COD4 is an M rated title.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

I’m hesitant to recommend this one due to the complaints I’ve received and heard about “suspect” behavior but due to the fact that I’ll be logging some hours this week, I’m listing it as the Play of the Week.

I want to get together with friends on this one so let me know if you’re up for some Call of Duty 4 Mutliplayer Beta action this week.  I know DDB are up for it.
