Battlefield: Bad Company 2, More Frostbite!
Are you ready for more “B” Company insanity with Haggard and the crew? Are you ready for more Frostbite? If you’ve followed the blog at all, you’d know that I’m a big fan of the Frostbite engine. It’s the biggest reason why I enjoyed Bad Company as much as I did. Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s announcement was almost as good as sex. (okay probably not that good) I got a chance to hang out with the DICE crew and talk about the first Bad Company so I’m geeked about the sequel.
In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the B company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite™ engine can. Either online or offline, enemies will soon learn there is nowhere to hide.

“Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante – more vehicles, more destruction and more team play,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE.
I’m looking forward to how much further advanced the Frostbite engine becomes in this game. I’m ready to blow shit up once more! There’s also an all-new multiplayer game available this summer via Xbox LIVE Marketplace called Battlefield 1943. Battlefield 1943 takes players back to WWII.  The game offers endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.
What say you?

I’d be interested in seeing how improved the engine is, the first game blew things up fairly predictably.

I’m not sure why, but any videogame that places me in snow I just LOVE, I’m an uber fanboy for snow. Like in Mass Effect, I loved that planet Noveria, all snow and ice

Hopefully it turns out well, the multiplayer is what I love in the BF series.

Oh yes, I loved me some Bad Company. I just want more air based vehicles in the sequel ( jets please!) then I’ll be happy

Bad Company rocked. Having the B Company back and in snow is a win-win situation. Woohoo!

I’ve passed on all the Battlefield games so far because there’s no split screen or any same console play whatsoever! Add that in BF:BC2 and it’s a garuanteed buy!

This looks and sounds like it will be an incredible game, but I’m still saving my quarters for FN:R4! See you in the ring!

DEVELOPER REQUESTS!
1. Let us have option to turn off spawning (in game option). I hate sneaking for 4 minutes to flank to have some noob spawn on me and start opening up with machine gun fire from my position.
2. Do not penalize passengers when the driver goes out of bounds, penalize the driver for all deaths (totally annoying in heli).
3. Can we get a Lag-o-meter? I hate starting a game to find out i’m all laggy and then have to quit (probably skews my stats too)
4. If you’re going to incorporate jets, let them use a larger out of bounds area. Using the standard out of bounds for jets was already done in Frontlines:Fuel of War and it totally sucked! If you can’t do this, only allow A-10 Warthogs (they fly real slow)
5. Make the bullet hits be more realistically felt. There’s nothing more rediculous than shooting someone from point blank range in the back with an M60 and they turn around and kill you with a small automatic. Give me a break. Large caliber bullets should knock you down! Others should at least knock you in the direction of bullet path. THIS WOULD BE AWESOME!

MORE DEVELOPER REQUESTS!
6. Add non-standard military vehicles like motorcycles, dirtbikes, snowmobiles, atv’s, hang-gliders. Maybe even add snowboards and skateboards…that would be hilarious. OMG add a uni-cycle and I’ll cry.
7. Smoke grenades – for all kits.
8. A dark night time map, like the one in Frontlines.
9. Varying Weather conditions.
10. Multi-player!
