Thats not my view I'm just posting what someone else found. But that is an excellent point. Even with third party HDD's allowed on the PS3, you'd be hard pressed to find one under $40 equal to 120GB.
EDIT: You can actually use a third party HDD on the PS3 as an extension to the existing HDD inside the console. The calculating site notes this too. Prices are correct.

i personally think that the fact that the internal parts of the elite being no different from the premiums and cores make me wary.. People are having many issues with the systems and the red ring...*ahem* I expect them to have rectify the issues before they put out another system with the same parts...

I can see how people would be wary of that. Although it uses the same components, its entirely possible the architecture of the SKU has been altered....but until MS says something people will just continue to be wary.

personally i think the 360 is the way to go. better online play, better online community, and they got the games right now. in order to justify me buying a ps3, there will have to be at least a dozen exclusive titles that i just gotta play and a ton of blu-ray only movies

a ton of blu-ray only movies
Thats up to movie studios. As of now, the only major studio thats HD-DVD only is Universal. I could be wrong. But right now the trend is to release on both formats. Obviously Sony Pictures is BR only.
That was one of the cons to HD-DVD - it was developed by a studio not involved in movies (Toshiba), so they had to rely on third party support to bring in exclusives, where as BR had a strong first party supporter in Sony.
