We (The people that have signed this petition) feel very left out in your decision to make Devil May Cry 4 a Multi-Platform title, and hereby agree to boycott your sale of Capcom affiliated games. This is due to your decision to turn your back on your most faithful gaming company. For years we have enjoyed games, we have reaped the benefits of your committment to Sony. We find it absolutely demoralizing for not only the gamers, but also Sony itself. We want you to know that will not, and should not stand for your actions, and therefore withold our option of buying your product.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned"

Yeah. You realize this is an Xbox 360 site right?
If a group of users wants to boycott let them. Apathy prevents these sort of efforts from being successful. There are people that boycott EA too and you can see how successful that has been.

Sony & Nintendo related stuff can be posted in the CONSOLE WARS forum... Right?
Anyways... EA's support base is not mostly Hardcore gamers, they are more casual and there are many more of those type of people in the world. (That's another reason why the PS3 isn't selling all that well) - However, Capcom's support base is known as having the Hardcore gamer support... So it's a little different.

Capcom responds to that sad Sony fan petition.
Quote:
We are certainly moved that people are so passionate about our products that they would go to such extremes. At the same time we feel that allowing more people access to our content pleases far more people than it displeases (after all, we're not denying DMC 4 to anyone that was already going to get it). It really is the best decision for the company and for consumers.

Sony fans are complaining about something that will not negatively affect them in anyway... What a bunch of idiots.
I'm surprised Capcom took the time out to respond to such stupidity.

they always do that i think...squash early reports, and then come back to make them still
i sat down with Capcom a while ago and from my impressions on some other titles of theirs and those games will be multi-console...just a matter of when is all.
and no i can't tell you the exact conversation.

Wait, so Capcom should ignore these guys, come on, these guys are loyal Capcom supporters.....they made a friggin petition for a game lol
It would be stupid of Capcom to simply ignore these guys. I'm glad Capcom relied to them, and in such a dignified manner too. Bravo guys.

They are stupid Sony fans that are asking Capcom to lose money because they can't handle one of their precious to go to the better selling system.... No wonder I can't get through to any Sony fans, they're too stupid by their blinded, ignorant beliefs.
Go ahead Sony fans and not buy the game... Idiots, it will just sell all that much better on the 360 and show Capcom that they will need to fully support the 360 over the PS3.
Maybe I should be thanking these dumbasses.

Did yo ueven read what I wrote before going off on a tengent? They are idiots for trying to petition a boycott on Capcom but that's not what I'm praising. I'm praising Capcoms dignified response to this. They could just as easily have ignored these guys but they opted to speak up when most others would remain silent.

Yes, I know... But Capcom should have ignored such ignorance. It makes Capcom look desperate for their sales. They are of no more in importance than anyone else.

We (The people that have signed this petition) feel very left out in your decision to make Devil May Cry 4 a Multi-Platform title
How can you be left feeling "left out" by a decision to make a game multi-platform? The entire point of doing this is so that people who don't own a PS3 don't feel left out. This statement is paradoxical.
and hereby agree to boycott your sale of Capcom affiliated games.
Seeing as all the games sold by Capcom ARE Capcom affiliated, that won't be difficult to do. You want to say "the sale", not "your sale". Credibility - 1.
This is due to your decision to turn your back on your most faithful gaming company.
Wrong terminology. If anything, it should say "most faithful publisher". But in actual fact, Sony have not been Capcom's most "faithful" publisher. That probably falls to Nintendo. If it were not for Nintendo, Capcom wouldn't exist. Megaman and Street Fighter were Capcom's most important early titles, both of which appeared on the NES and SNES, both of which earned them name recognition. Capcom titles have since appeared numerous times on Nintendo, Microsoft and Sega consoles since those times. Capcom are not faithful to Sony in the slightest.
For years we have enjoyed games, we have reaped the benefits of your committment to Sony.
Terrible sentence structure, incorrect spelling (commitment) and a complete lack of truth make up this sentence. w00t. Capcom have never been committed to Sony. Ever. The only company I can honestly say fits this bill is Square-Enix. Capcom's games have been published across platform for the past 3 generations, with debuts of AAA titles like Resident Evil 4 existing on consoles other than Sony's.
We find it absolutely demoralizing for not only the gamers, but also Sony itself.
Yes, because the starter of this petition knows exactly how Sony feel about Capcom's decision to take DMC multiplatform. He is obviously privy to such insider information.
We want you to know that will not, and should not stand for your actions, and therefore withold our option of buying your product.
OH MY GOD. I feel my IQ decreasing as I read this sentence. Why should you not stand for Capcom's actions? They are not illegal or immoral in the very slightest. It's a business decision. MOST SPECTACULARLY OF ALL, "withhold" implies that the people who sign this petition are holding onto their options to buy Capcom products IN THE FUTURE. This petition basically says "We won't buy any of your stuff for, oooh, a while. We don't know how long. Until the next Resident Evil game probably."
This petition phails to be a proper boycott, this petition phails to be taken seriously and this petition utterly DIES under any kind of grammatical scrutiny.
Edit: Oh yes, and online petitions have no real power whatsoever. Otherwise there would have been a NiGHTS into Dreams sequel at LEAST four years ago.

Anyways, what other Capcom games are exclusive to Sony or Nintendo that's not known as coming to the 360?

Lost Planet is the only one really selling well.. Dead Rising was okay not great

WTF? It sold 500,000 in 2 weeks and was the fastest selling Xbox 360 game to date. It broke US sales records and broke the million mark easily within a couple months.
Just do a Google search on "Dead Rising Sales"
DJSteel
03-27-2007, 08:00 AM
it sold well..but it wasn't that great of game.. in fact I'm pissed at the game.. I got pretty far.. and the bosses get cheaper and cheaper...I got sick of restarting and I hate the fact that the zombies respawn so you never really feel like you accomplish anything...

Fact is, Lost Planet is not the only game that sold well.

I have always felt that most Japanese developers (Mostly Capcom) give the Xbox brand a 2nd rate effort when developing games for that platform... Especially exclusive ones.
Capcom made two O.k. new IP's for the 360, but they could have easily been so much better... I bet they would be on Sony's PS3.
DJSteel
03-27-2007, 05:30 PM
you know why?? because when it comes to this...Japan is #1 to Japanese developers...much like we are...

The fans dont make Capcom decisions. Capcom making DMC4 multiplatform isnt their instigation of trying to break apart from Sony. In fact, they were never associated with Sony. Capcom has developed and published all the DMCs. Sony never owned the franchise, so it was never theres in the first place. What Capcom is doing is what most publishers will begin to do - go multiplatform to increase profit. Not to piss off fans, but to gain more.
