game invite law

sorry, don't know if this was posted before.....

I want a law for game invites.

The other night I got game invites for games I don't own. :wtf: here's the law


Before any gamer sends out a game invite, please use the gamer profile to check that they have the game before sending the request.


that's just a sample. if anyone has a better wording to make it official. thanks

i like it...it needs a little more clarification though because even if it's on your Gamercard, you might not have it still.

One guy I recently added spammed out Halo2 invites today. Needless to say he's not on my list anymore.

How about this...

If you see a friend online that is playing a single player game such as Oblivion, Viva Pinata, etc do not invite them to a mulitiplayer game but if you see them online in a multiplayer game then it is okay to send the invite.

Or simply message the person first to see if they have that game and would like to join you in a round or two...

i feel lucky...

all the people i play with dont play halo 2, so i dont get spamed invites.
but yeah, i like Myst's idea.

Thanks Souf & Canadian! I just thought it would be more courtious for your friends because I had this happen alot when GoW first came out, I didnt get it until about a week later but I kept geting invited to games...

I feel your pain Aquaboy.. only have 8 myself.. and almost half of them are employees at EB. LOL there eyes seem to gleem when I walk into the store.. must be the 5-7 games I preorder at a time..

I typically don't invite people to games unless I've already played them in it or i know they own the game. It does get a bit annoying to receive invites to Full Auto, but that's just how it goes.

Very true Knox.. you don't really know what you might get yourself into until you play against the person.. Tried playing doom when it first came out and had a really bad experience, not only a bad net connection but the other players were.. lets just say.. arrogant.. could use more colorful terms but I think this would be good enough.

thankfully I dont tend to trade in any of my games (since you normaly get squat back in the trade in value), last trade in was the sports games and Kong.. so the invites to games wouldnt be much of a problem.. if its on my list and have acheivments for it.. its in my collection.
