Opened my copy today and played through the first level and a little bit of the second. I dont like how we are limited to 2 weapons but I like what I played so far. So far my weapon preference is the magnum. Having customizable controls is an excellent perk. I pretty much changed the entire control scheme.

I haven't opened my copy yet. Been a little busy with Fallout 3 and Gears 2. Once I finish Gears, I'll give Resistance 2 a try.

I've started working my way through the SP campaign. So far I've been enjoying it. Graphics have been pretty solid for the most part. Definitely a huge improvement over the first game. The shear size and scope of some of the elements in the environments has been impressive. Gameplay has been fun and rather difficult at times. The enemy AI definitely puts up a fight, some times to the point of frustration.

I don't like the whole limit on the amount of weapons you can carry either but I've been dealing with it. The story has been decent so far but nothing impressive.

I thought it was just me, but yeah the game does seem a lot more challenging. I mean sometimes its like one shot and I am dead. And I am playing on Normal.

Well I finished the campaign yesterday. I enjoyed it for the most part.

Pros

-Impressive scope and scale. You see large Chimeran ships flying over cities. There are also a couple of huge bosses to battle.
-Some pretty intense battles
-Enemy AI is pretty good overall.
-Graphics are much improved over the first game. Environments and characters are detailed. The new lighting and shadowing system is pretty nice as well.
-Great looking cut-scenes.
-New weapons to use, like the magnum.
-Interesting ending to the single player.
-Great online set-up, with lag free 60 player battles.
-Impressive stat tracking for both single player and multiplayer.

Cons

-Campaign is shorter. Took me just under 9 hours to complete.
-Story isn't all that special.
-Some ugly looking textures, particularly the fooliage. MP graphics aren't as nice looking also.
-2 weapon limit is rather lame.
-Some Half-Life and Halo-esque elements throughout the game.
-Insane difficulty at times. I died 215 times and that was on normal. I felt like throwing my controller through the TV on several occasions. Having to repeat a certain area over and over is frustrating and ruins the experience. There were a few instances where I felt the whole situation was hopeless.
-Cliffhanger ending. While it was interesting, it didn't really give a clear indication if there will be a Resistance 3.

I still need to beat the first one which I'm probably half-way through and am really enjoying. I'll probably pick this up after Christmas.
