Having some issues with the PS3 and I am contemplating sending it in for repair since it is still under warranty. Here's what is happening. After about 30 minutes of use whether BR movie, game disc or playing off the HDD, the fan kicks on into turbo drive and doesn't let up. I have the 360 and the PS3 in a very wide open cabinet with plenty of space to disperse air.

Thoughts?

I really wouldn't worry about it. Mine does that as well from time to time.

The Ps3 does that... How warm is the room?

Mine kicks on high from time to time also.

Do you have animals? Maybe some hair is blocking a vent or something, it wouldn't hurt to call Sony to see what they think

I checked for hair and the temp of the room varies from around 72 degrees to 78 degrees depending on the time of year and when I run it.

If have a window open with cool temps no problems. It just seems overly sensitive. They were willing to have me send it in and look at it but I don't want to do that and risk my 40 gig getting purged if it doesn't help anything and I have the same challenge when it is returned.

Ive had mine for over a year and a half with no issues. It may have caught a bug from your 360
