Has anyone been in any game sessions like this yet - where some are playing on the 360 & others are playing on PC?
If so, how was it? Did it make any difference in your experience? Did the PC players clean up against the 360 players?

I've done Shadowrun on the PC, after you get your achievment for killing someone on the other console you never know ever again who is on what unless you ask.
I had to tweak the game to run smooth on pc, something you will never have to do on the xbox 360
Oh by the way, I plugged in my wired controler anyways

So you can't really tell who's on what? That's actually good, IMO.
Yeah, I'd use a controller on PC too (haven't played any 360 compatible games for windows yet).

I'm glad cross-platform play hasn't caught on. It needs to stay separate as far as I'm concerned.

naw, i'd love to have more cross compatible games, that way my pc becomes my backup machine for xbox live :P

I'm fine with it. People should be able to play on whichever platform they prefer.

The problem I have with it is the fact that you're going to have to dumb down PC games so console gamers have a chance. Shadowrun for the PC was just a console game ported to the PC. PC gamers ripped it a part for how dumbed down it was.
PC gamers are used to a certain experience. It's not fair to them to receive dumbed down games just so some console gamer can stand a chance against them online. Likewise, it wouldn't be fair to console gamers if nothing was done and they got their butts handed to them by the PC gamers.
Developers need to create games for each platforms strength, not for one or the other. Cross-platform play creates more problems than it's worth and it seems developers have noticed that.

What do you mean by 'dumbed down'? Did they cripple mouse control somehow?

Mouse speed was toned down and it even included the same auto-aim system found in the console version. There were a bunch of other problems people had with it as well.

That's too bad. I think non-shooter games might work better for cross-platform stuff (where aim speed isn't as important to gameplay).

I suppose racing games, certain RPG's, and even certain third person shooters would work out. FPS's and RTS's...? Not so much.

This will probably happen sooner rather than later. With games for windows giving achievements to your 360 tag, should be an indication. I agree that RTS and FPS may be a bit unfair, but the rest i don't see why not. I'd much rather play PC games than 360 games.
Wow, my bad on this one...didn't realize it was 9/08
