These rumours really are starting to grate
I wish they'd just drop the price already and stop the repetitive articles.

I don't think MS have anything to worry about in terms of price, they could easily continue selling the console as is, although it would bring in more punters.

Core should have never been sold. MS did a disservice to customers by misleading them into thinking an HDD was not needed. While the apologist I'm sure with somewhat correctly state it is not technically required (except for a very few game titles) the expirence of 360 without it is a very small fraction of what is should be. Software developers could also have benefited without needing to live under the specification that the HDD should not be required. This is no different that MS's decision to reverse their 50MB limit on Arcade games.

Economically, the Core was always an unsound deal to the customer. It's ONLY good purpose is as a less expensive replacement option for out-of-warranty defective units.

WRONG... Do you always bla, bla, bla? Anyways, what if I want another 360 (Many people want/have more than one) but I already have the Hard drive form the Premium that I can switch back & fourth? = Yeah, the Core for $100 less would be the smart choice for me and others who already have the Hard drive having Premium.

The majority of folks tend to stick with just the one console. And even if you were to buy another premium console you could still switch the HDD.

I don't really need two Hard Drives... now do I?

Really? Well you are talking to somebody that has two premiums. I bought a second premium so I would not need to risk unnecessary damage to the HDD by constant swapping (or so I thought, my second unit is almost never used as it turns out). I also got the media remote, headset, wireless controller, etc.

Core's only use to me is as a replacement should I need one.

Well I guess you wanted to pay extra to not risk damage to a HDD... O.K.

You don't really need two consoles either.

For system-Link you do... That's another thing that makes Xbox/360's games so much more than any others... More games on the Xbox brand utilize that feature.

Mainly because more games are out for it

Why would you need to system link with Live?

To game on two tv's in the same room with friends... What you are saying is like saying "Why would PC owners have a LAN party, that's just stupid."

I thought you were a little smarter than that.

Pleas don't insult my intelligence, you may as well call me dumb
My point is, it would be cheaper to have your friend bring his console over and subscribe to Live, than you buy another 360 just for system link.

So your friend could have a premium 360, as could you and you both could sit in the same room and play each other, its system link but so much more cheaper as you won't have to buy another consoles......assuming your friend already has a 360 and Live.

I didn't with the old Xbox. I went to radio shack and paid $5 for an extra power cable and bought the HD harness for it to leave attached to the second location. When I wanted to move I simply carried the Xbox to the other spot and plugged it in.

When 360 came out and it had that retarded power-brick I decided to buy a second 360 and avoid the extra jostling.

Yeah friends that are 360 gamers, but what about the ones that don't or family?

You haven't convinced them to buy a 360 already?

If you have the money to buy another 360 solely for system link then why is my decision to buy a PS3 for myself such a baffling thing? ;)

Because 99% of the games (Something like that) are going to & will be better on a system you already own, and no one can play all of them.

You say that like you know its true? Sure for the games that are out and are imminent in the next month or so, but what about after that? You really think in a years time after devs are accustomed to the PS3 the games will still be as they are now?

I will be here to prove you and Sirharper wrong if the PS3 doesn't get more games for us Westerners, and I will admit I'm wrong if it does.

Btw, the 360 has the PC advantage.

If you can call it that. I'm still a little annoyed they actually think people would pay for something they've been getting free for so long. I'm already in so I can't really complain though.

to the average THAT CAN'T AFFORD a second console the Core is a bad buy.. especially if you consider the extra stuff you need to purchase.. personally if you are waiting to get another premium..i'd wait for the HDMI w/120 gig hdd version

i've never understood what people thought was so wrong with the Core? it's the same minus the hard drive. and your don't necessarily NEED the hard drive for the center of what gaming is. sure you'd miss out on downloads and such...but you can still do what anyone else can.

the core is 299.99
memory card to save games is 30 bucks

so really you are saving 60 bucks.

But Deac, there's more differences than just the HDD and that alone equals the price difference. There is the wireless controller, all launch era units came with the media remote, and lots of people used the free gold Live time it came with to get hooked on it.

Say what you want about the chrome though, that's just decor...fair enough.

It didn't take long for people to understand the Core's lack of sensibility. I think most just got one because they had to at launch.

DeaconBlade

so it was a price thing people complained about and not necessarily a function thing?

Sirharper

Well, if the Core had been $150 less it would have made more sense.
