wow what a game. the 2 best teams in the nba going to double overtime. that was something. i dont really care for either team but i would have liked to have seen the mavs win. oh well all i know is that it was a good game.

no he doesn't. Jordan should've gotten it every year...Shaq should have...they better not start this crap. he's consistent sure...but then how many other players are as well...Dirk, D-Wade, Lebron. they all mean just as much to their teams....i blame coaching for the Suns being worse off without Nash than the other teams. i hate to see what the Suns will be when Nash gets hurt or retires. they don't gameplan AT ALL for days without Nash.

before the shoulder/arm injury.. I would have agreed with Wade.. I see only 3 or 4 people having this shot.. Nash, Dirk, James, and maybe Carmelo if they can get past the whole fight suspension

i don't want to see Nash get it...i love Nash....but come on..Dirk is just as valuable and plays some defense

I think that Shaq should get it his time. Without Wade, he is Miami's main weapon.

this is where i think people look at the title MVP the wrong way. it isnt about the teams record. i think it is about the individual and what he has accomplished during the season. Even though i cant stand the guy kobe, he is playing great ball. yes it is selfish ball in my book but scoring 50 pts 3 games in a row and a bunch of other times this year makes him valuable.
i dont think you need to have a great team record or win a league title to win the mvp. The award is for most valuable player of the whole league. if you take certain people off of certain teams their records are worse then they r now. take Kobe Bryant, Gilbert Arenas, Kevin Garnett to name a few off of their teams and they dont have many wins. the teams they play for dont have anyone else to turn to that could even be clasified as an mvp. most of the top teams have 1 or 2 people you could remove from the team and they would still be very good.
to me MVP is about an individuals preformance and has nothing to do with a teams record. yes it would be nice to have every mvp come from a team that wins the title or has the best record in a leauge but the mvp isnt always on that team. that is just my opinion

i agree Rayven but the league thinks otherwise.

most valuable player of the league means that this player is the most important player in the league to the team he plays for. While I believe you can make a case for marque players, but if they are not making the playoffs with him, they won't without him, so in turn what does it matter that he is getting 50 pts if they are losing so much?

it isnt about the teams record or making the playoffs. MVP is Most Valuable Player. That to me is and individual award has nothing to do with the team or its record. it is about individual preformance for the season. not how many games a team wins.

so if Kobe's team won 11 games in a year, but Kobe had the best individual of the year...does he deserve the Mvp??

In my opinion who ever has the most outstanding year as an individual player is the mvp. so to answer your question yes in my opinion. if you look at what the Dictionary say MVP stand for this is what it says " player judged to be the most important to the sport" not to the team for the whole sport. i think there is to much empisis put on team in the mvp race in all sports not just the NBA.

i totally disagree...i think the fact a team makes the playoffs should improve the chances of certain players getting the MVP...

i wouldn't give MVP to anyone who couldn't lead their team to the playoffs.
