9:40: Did Barlog just confirm that God of War 3 will be in 1080p with Sixaxis and VIBRATION functions on PS3? He sure did! Whoa! Well, technically he didn't confirm GOW3, but he confirmed Sixaxis and vibration for the future of God of War.
Good news for many, bad for some.

Well if you already bought the PS3 for $600 and don't have rumble... Then yeah.

No, it had rumble.

I meant the resizing issue that resulted in almost everyone buying the new controller S

Yeah, Sony & Nintendo also did the same with their consoles before... But instead of adding/improving over time, they took out features.

The PS2 slimmed down as did the Psone, I'm not entirely sure about Nintendo.

Yeah, they also took out the ability of using the Hard Drive.. A feature not really supported by Sony anyways... Nintendo dropped the Optical 5.1 ability on the Gamecube.

Yeah, but what about all those who bought it with/for FFIV? Sony promised a lot, and screwed all of them over by not supporting it... It didn't even save games strait to it... You needed a memory card to switch the save every time.

Well, this is the first I heard of it so clearly it wasn't as big an issue as you're making it out to be.

People tend to forgive & forget a lot (Especially gamers)... and care more about what they want than what's important.

What's important is what you want. Sony gave fans what they wanted with the PS2 and came away grinning like drunken fools.

I don't think so for everyone... I and 2 of my friends will no longer support Sony (Untill they change) We all had PS2s (Many of them) at one time... I went through 3 in 2-years, my friend went through 4 in 3 years, and the other friend went through 2 in one year... We all sold them for store credit and got Xbox stuff with it. Once we went to the Xbox after being on the Sony's side, made us all realize that Sony has nothing on Microsoft when it comes to the fun/quality games... Multiplayer/system link/Xbox Live had a lot to do with that.
Now, I know people have broken 360s also, but my friends & I haven't had any problems what so ever.

See, I can't understand that. Maybe its just rotten luck on your side but I know more than a dozen people who own or have owned a PS2 and not a single one of them broke. ANd I'm referring to people I know in my life and not on forums.
And I have had a broken 360 and know around 5 or so people that have also experienced the same problem. One of them is on his third console. (Bruin for any XGP'ers wondering). In terms of console reliability the Playstation has always been better IMO.
Game-wise I've always preferred the Xbox stuff although my most favourite games belong to the PS2 and PS1. I've always tried to get the best of both of them though as they both have stellar titles not to be missed.

So? The PS2 came with the online adapter after Sony found out that the Xbox had one built in. The DVD drive was only a quality upgrade (Needed because of all the DRE PS2s & the class action lawsuit Sony lost)... It didn't affect any part of improving the gaming experience.

A lot of things don't affect gameplay but are done anyway. Its like the 360 faceplate.....why? Because people like choice, and if given the opportunity to have something better, they'll take it.
I frequently use the DVD functionality of my consoles. The 360 sees a fair few movies in it's tray as did the XBox and PS2 before it. As for the online adaptor, whatever their reasons for adding it, there's no doubting it was a valuable addition for many.

Yes, but when I stated features taken out... It was meant towards adding/improving gaming because that is the main point of a console revision, yes?

Not at all, the main point is to reduce costs. Gaming is either left entirely intact, or improved upon.

That doesn't disprove it never happened to anyone else... You don't know millions of PS2 owners.

Neither do you. How can you say a console revision was poor (not in those words) when the console sales actually increased after those revisions?

It increased because of the PRICE DROP and many who already had the old larger PS2s bought the SLIM ones also... That's why.
I did see many on the forums mad at Sony for their PS2 problems/lack of Hard drive support... That is a fact.

Doesn't go against the fact that the console sold more and that is more of a fact than someone's opinion on the issue. I can guarantee that only a small, minute amount of folks would have been disgruntled. To be honest, people only tend to complain and never praise when it comes to posting in forums.

Yes, but there are many reasons why it sold far more... Not because it's Sony. Gamers are not as loyal as you fanboy hating people like to think. = Remember Nintendo was #1 also at one time.

You seem to be very loyal to Microsoft ;)
My point is it sold very well back then and the same could be true for the PS3. History repeating itself and all that.

I'm loyal at this time... Forever has yet to be determined.
If you talk about history, then you would know that no console maker has stayed on the top for 3 generations in a row, and that every time a console maker got arrogant/made mistakes, they became #3 or the last man on the totem pole.

True, but then there's always a first time. (Although I personally would like to see Nintendo win it this time, very likely)

'can' be different but its usually the console that has sold most.

Yes, but it's been known that Nintendo titles are the ones that mostly sell on Nintendo consoles, and are very few & far between... Sales for 3rd party games are rarely equal on Nintendo systems than Microsoft/Sony ones.... That is if the 3rd party game even comes out for the Nintendo system.

of course nintendo has 3rd party games...the only reason they don't get the 3rd party love is because most people who own a Wii or a Gamecube count that as their second system..games are graphically better and has online capabilities with the other systems..

Sonic is the number one seller on the Wii in the UK. Its also better scoring on the Wii than on any other console and yes, I'm aware it was developed by a different studio. Contrary to that, the bulk of the top 10 DS games are First-party Nintendo titles. Why? Maybe its because 3rd party devs don#t use the functionality of the DS properly?
I see things going differently with the Wii with Developers praising its control method . EA have pledged their support as has one of the biggest heads in gaming, Will Wright. I'm sure Nintendo will outdo the other consoles. The real question should be who'll come out on top between Sony and Microsoft?
