Not so happy with Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

Like Heavenly sword, Uncharted has a lot of screen tearing to the point of ridiculousness, but that isn't the main reason why I am disappointed with it so far... The problem with this adventure game so far is that there isn't any variety of enemies (All Mexican) & it becomes mundane shooting the same bad guys over & over again without bosses while they throw very simple puzzles in-between. I don't know if that changes in the later levels, but I've never seen anything in Uncharted videos except shooting the same people over & over... Uncharted is far from being as good as Tomb Raider in variety of areas/enemies. It's just not all that fun once you realize it, like I did.

Now why did this game get so much hype from the Sony fans?:confused:

I didn't really have much of a problem with screen tearing. Maybe you should play through the entire game before complaining about the variety of enemies. A couple of days ago you said this was easily the best PS3 game and now it's not?

I greatly enjoyed the game, as did many others.

I did enjoy the first few levels & it is the best exclusive Ps3 game I've played so far, but how good is that compared to exclusives on the 360? Not so good IMO... Hell, I'd take Tomb Raider any day over it.

I figured after the first two levels or so, the game would get deeper/better, yet it's the same stuff over & over again... I'm asking, does it change with a variety of enemies/areas & is there any bosses at all?

When... I'm at the stage where he says something like "This place needs better plumbing" where there are pillars & a bunch of people come after you once you drop down in the low lying water.

No, I have fun with a lot of games like CONAN that is far more fun than Uncharted.. It at least it has lot of variety to the enemies/areas. It also has huge level ending bosses along with upgrades to the move set = Uncharted what?

Now how will my video settings make screen tearing go away... Please answer that one for me?

Conan is a God of War clone.. and a shitty one at best.. Uncharted plays like a movie....next time I will make sure I suggest shitty games to you because you like those over solid hits like Heavenly Sword and Uncharted.

Sorry, but CONAN isn't shitty.. Believe what you will, but over hyped games like Heavenly Sword & Uncharted give the real let down compared to unknown gems like CONAN...

Also, about the screen tearing - Certain people can notice it more than others & maybe you can't, or choose to not see it.

^ Yeah, some people just don't notice it as much (I also play it on a 57" 1080P HDTV)... I wish I wouldn't see it because it ruins the experience = Drives me crazy.

I hear Mass Effect has it bad also, but then it's a huge RPG compared to a very linier 10+ hour adventure game.

It is... Try rotating the camera around in Uncharted (Left to right) = You'll notice it more. Also play it on a big 1080P HDTV

That could be the main factor why you don't see it...1080P is a much higher resolution

What high profile game does?

It's up-converted in 1080p like any other 720P/1080i game.

A 1080P DLP only has a native resolution of 1080P, thus it up-converts the image to 1080P like every other game, yet I don't have the screen tearing problem in other games like I do in Uncharted = It's the game, not my HDTV.

I played the demo of Uncharted last night at the midnight release at Gamestop. I enjoyed it quite a bit. This definitely one of the games that I would pick up once I get a PS3.

That's the thing... The first few levels I'm thinking this game is good while I thought it would change a little & get more involved... Not so. The puzzles are weak, the enemies are the same with not so smart A.I. - All the locations are of the same place most of the game & the screen tearing gets really bad in later parts... I wanted to show that I was wrong with my first intensions of the game, & I didn't want anyone to get the wrong ideas off what I originally said when I only played a few levels.

The Jet Ski parts in Uncharted are terrible, especially the later ones... You have to literally stop on the moving river to shoot the people shooting at you, while trying to avoid/shoot exploding barrels = That part needs Co-Op badly, because you can't control the Jet Ski while shooting... So f-ing stupid, that the game now sucks because of it.

My HDTV (Unlike the PS3) has an internal scalar that upscales every game to 1080P.. Be it all my 360 ones & Ps3 ones, yet Uncharted out of all my games has the worst screen tearing I've ever witnessed.

And this is why that is a very poor excuse... I have many games that don't run in 1080P, yet they don't have the screen tearing that Uncharted does... The Ps3's Resistance is even one of them.

Did you really think CoD2 (& many other 360 games) is native 1080P, or are they just upscaled… Like my HDTV does for Uncharted?

Now actually think for a second.. Wow, no difference at all, yet my 360 games/Resistance doesn't even come close to Uncharted's screen tearing.
