Will GTA4 hurt MGS4s sales & the Ps3?

It seems like a bad time for Konami to release a big exclusive Ps3 title right after the biggest selling IP this year... Don't cha think?

Yeah, but will MGS4 pull in new casual buyers to the Ps3 since many Hardcore already have the system?

If people are already playing GTA4 on the 360 during the time MGS4 comes out... Will it be forgotten by most except for the hardcore Sony fans, or will they even care to also buy a Ps3?

I don't think it's going to be ignored. You got the game, the bundle, and the special edition console coming out at the same time. I think you'll see a lot of new PS3 users buying the MGS4 bundle.

I just think it's bad timing & a stupid move... I think Konami/Sony should have released MGS4/PS3 bundle a month earlier.

I believe they will pick up sales, just not as much as they could have.

it's possible. at least initially. i can see the GTA IV craze going well into MGS4's window.

Personally, I think MGS4 is a more hardcore crowds game. I never saw console sales going through the roof with its release. Don't get me wrong...they will see a bump just not a Halo 3 / GTA IV sized bump. It will sell lots of copies just more minimally on the console front IMHO.
