Not only was this known weeks ago, but the price is completely just.

$60 for the 70-80 hour original on hard copy.
...or $30 for 30 hours of gameplay via download that will clog up your puny 360 HDD. Of course Bethesda also quoted 20 hours for Knights of the Nine but most people did it in about 8-10.
The price is not too far off it's value but it is not balanced either.
Presence of new Achievements will determine if I buy it.
Now for the real question...
How many of these add-ons will automatically come with the PS3 version?

From what I've read so far, everything minus the horse armor mod is on the PS3 version, don't take my word for it though, I vaguely remember reading it.

But everything else is?

But everything else is?
NOPE = "That's because the developer aims to release the "Knights of the Nine" content introduced in the PS3 version as downloadable content for both Xbox 360 and PC on or around 21st November.
In fact, that being the case, European 360 and PC owners will get to play it before their PS3-owning friends anyway"
That's it!
Also, "Spokesperson Pete Hines told trade weekly MCV, "We plan to support downloadable content on PS3, but we couldn't tell you how or when it will be out, because it's not clear how we're going to do that yet."
Here's more...
IGN: Are there going to be any new items or creatures added, beyond the Knights of the Nine quests?
Howard: No, Knights of the Nine comprises all the new content we've worked on for the PS3.
IGN: How different will this version be from the others? If I've played this before, is there a reason to play it again on the PS3?
Todd Howard: "Our goal is always to make the game look and feel consistent across all platforms. We design the game we want to make and then make that game available on as many platforms as possible. So, it's the same base game as was released on PC/ 360. The PS3 is benefiting from us continuing to develop our core technology that drives all our Elder Scrolls games. Some of that is noticeable on the screen -- like all the new graphic shaders -- and some isn't. The best examples are those new shaders we have for how "near detail" and "far detail" blend together on the landscape. You no longer have a harsh line cutting across the two levels, they blend together seamlessly and the distant detail and land looks much nicer. Why would you play it on PS3? You might play it because you didn't get an X360 or don't own a PC that can run it and want to experience this unique RPG experience for yourself. Maybe you just want to experience the new content on your PS3. Or you're getting a PS3 as your main console and want to play Oblivion again"
The 360 is also getting that shader fix by way of download. To me rumble is so very important in the 360 version, like when you get hit in the back by someone or something... I couldn't imagine playing Oblivion without rumble.

Ah good stuff. Glad to see the game's consistent. I've yet to milk the game dry for the Achievements it has. I don't think I'll ever get round to it with some stellar titles being released across all platforms.

would you guys be so surprised at the price had it been a separate edition sold in stores? i dont' think so. i think the 2400 is the equivalent of sticker shock but if you saw it in a store with $30 on it, the shock wouldn't be there.

No, $30 for a DVD, case, manuals and ACHIEVEMENTS would be very reasonable.
Paying $30 for the right to clog your HDD is slightly off. Especially when the add on is 1/2 the price of the original and yields (at most) 1/3 the gameplay is silly.

I never really thought about it in terms of the amount of space it'd take up on the HDD, not good.

If the game really is 1/3 the size of Cyrodil with new monsters and weapons and all new textures then it's going to have to be huge.

I agree... I'd rather have a HARD COPY of OBLIVION with EVERYTHING for $30 now, than a download.... And they could have done that because it’s a YEAR later. However, they chose not to so that they can screw more $$ out of us by it not costing them materials/middleman (Stores) & shipping costs.
