Now lets hope Microsoft improves on the XBL Marketplace & the crappy colors they use, because this looks far better.

It certainly looks 100% better compared to the current design. Plus it's no longer browser based, so it should be a lot faster as well.

Nice - Browser based (Delay/Lag) was one of my original gripes in my Ps3 impressions from a 360 gamer thread.

I'll gladly take the new store since the current design has been one of my biggest complaints.

I agree the 360 is better in those areas.. but they haven't done much improving on their current online functionality since Spring of 07. Since then PSN has redesigned their store, developing Home, etc.. I wish MS wouldn't just be satisfied with what they have and strive to do better...

that's a pretty cool store though.

I've you've ever used the PS Store in a standard def 480p mode, it's a completely different beast than the 1080i / widescreen store... and I thought THAT was an improvement - this thing looks like it might finally make some sense!

And I have to say, I'm glad they're doing this now... in all honesty there's not TOO much content on their PSStore - it's easier to do it now than when it becomes ENTIRELY impossible to find things. Right now it's just a pain, but you can still find stuff if you look hard enough - once there's a ton of content, they would have suffered a lot. This will be nice.

Exactly... It seems of late that Microsoft is sitting on their hands... It just seems that way until we get to know more on what they have planned at E3.

There is now a video walk through up on the PS Blog. It looks like it's a lot faster, which is great. The preview feature for downloadable games looks pretty nice. It allows you to view a video or screenshots right there without leaving the store.

Well the new store is up and running. It's definitely more organized and moving from section to section is a lot faster. The icons loading is really the only problem I've noticed. Some load quick and others take a while to load. Not sure why that is but hopefully it's something that will be addressed in the coming days.

I can't believe how many people are complaining about the new store over at the PS boards. I saw a thread saying "bring back the old store."
