Sometimes people want something to be great so bad that they make it out to be better than it really is... That's Sony & it's fans for you.

I think you get the idea, reviews are often all over the house. just look at what crackdown got and you'll see what I mean. Its best to try something out for yourself and see how it than take a reviewers opinion to heart. I personally thought the game looked incredible but hey, that's just me ;)

EDIT: shit, did Phil really say that? Does he get that they are completely different genres?!

LoL yeah, I feel as if all of Sony is in Bizarro world.

I get what you are saying about other reviews, it's just that this is funny coming from 1-up/EGM - They are known to hype all of Sony in the past like many others... It just proves that times a' changing.

Also, if you really look at all of PS3's upcoming future exclusives their is always something that looks really good while the rest looks average at best... To fool people into thinking that a PS3 game looks amazing...

Lair=Good looking water while the rest is low quality textures with terrible color & lighting.

Motorstorm=Good looking mud while the rest is low quality textures in the same bland environments and the same orange colors for all of 8 tracks that look no different. Also, if you noticed... Things like bushes rotate around with you as you rotate around them... That is Last, Last, Last Gen tech for a game nowadays.

MGS4=The characters look good while the background/tanks/ground in the environment is lacking detail/textures and the color is also washed out in a yellowish haze.

And so on...

It's this way with all of PS3's exclusives, and they don't look anywhere near the quality of Gears of War... That is saying something when you consider that all these PS3 exclusives are built from the ground up for the PS3 tech.

360 fanboys would never make a game sound better than it was would they?

Some would but not anywhere near what Sony fans do... Did you already forget the backlash many of 360 games got at launch from it's fans? Funny how MOST Sony fans turn a blind eye to PS3's lackluster games.

Maybe because they don't think the games are really that bad?
example. Perfect dark zero or Resistance?

No, I'm asking you what you think is better.

Are you talking overall Graphics/story/design/sound or Gameplay?

Overall Graphics = PDZ

Overall Gameplay = PDZ on and off line - Co-Op.

Overall Character design = Resistance

Overall Story = Resistance

Overall sound = Resistance

What else do you want?

So, which do you think is better? You've given me the bullet point list but how about a straight up answer?

Lets' just say that I don't play a game for the Sound/Character design and Story... I play for the fun of it, and Co-Op onlline is where it's at.;)

Gamespot MotorStorm review = 7.9

Another PS3 AAA title dies & drowned in a pool of "potential".

85% average, thats hardly terrible. (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/928393.asp)
I liked what I managed to play (albeit very briefly) but I'm shocked at the small amount of tracks that the game has. I sure hope they don't pull a a horse-armor move on us and release tracks for a hefty price via the magic of the internet.

What you & I have played is basically the whole game in a nutshell... It's shallow, and there isn't much added to give many reasons to play more than a few races.

About ratings, Please don't read much into the known Sony fan sites that are made up to inflate a games ratings... I would rather trust 1-Up/IGN & Gamespot, and that's saying something.

If the Ps3 is so powerful and that Blu-Ray is so important... Why doesn't that game have more than 8 tracks that all look the same, and how come they can't do split screen? Also, why is it only running at 30fps at 720P, when it was promised at 60fps running in 1080P?

Why trust any site for reviews? Nothing beats sampling the game for yourself and with demo's and game kiosks in stores its never been easier.
I don't take heed to reviews, if I'm interested in a game I'd rather be told from someone I know what that game is like if I can't play it.

If it sells then its a success, if it doesn't, well, they suck lol.

Yes... I fully agree, but these reviews are about the FINAL version, and I don't know anyone else who has played that version.

Below 80% from well known game sites say a lot when the game was supposed to be AAA (What Sony & their fans say)... We now know that it will never be considered AAA by the game industry or to many gamers. The PS3 games are not generating enough good to make perople go out and buy up all the systems sitting on store shelves, because you need many good games to do that for a $600 game console.

I agree, I think the PS3 is still lacking its AAA title, although I do consider Motorstorm a AAA thats just an individual opinion and not a general view. It is disappointing to not have a title that everyone can look at and go 'Hey, theres that kickass game!' like people do with Halo and Gears of War on the PS3, but I have no doubt that there's something big coming for them. Sony's a mammoth corporation and so long as the console sells, you can bet your tush they'll carry on hyping games up. (Massive damage, anyone?)
