Apparently there is now a demo up for MLB 2K8. I'll give it a try but from what I've read, the final game has some big problems.

Anyone tried it yet? Any good? I started the download before leaving for work & will try it when I get home.

I played the demo for about 10 seconds before I realized the suckage level.
Nothing competes with The Show.

Played a few games in the demo... Probably should stopped after the first game... Impressions below.
Pros:
-Making contact with the ball seems to be easier. That's not saying much though.
-Using the right analog stick for infield/outfield throwing works pretty well.
Cons:
-New pitching system: Talk about overly complex. I don't understand it at all really. I went through the tutorial and I still couldn't figure it out. The only pitch I can throw with any sort of accuracy is a fastball. The AI will tee-off on you even if you make the slightest mistake. I gave up over 15 runs in both games I played. Completely unrealistic.
-Outfielders seem to be inept. I lost count as to how many balls they either dropped or kicked. There was one instance where Manny kept running in front of me while I was trying to get the ball back to the infield. I had to run a way from him just to throw the ball.
-Graphics aren't that impressive. Many of the player models look rather poor. The grass doesn't look all that great either.
-Framerate. I can't believe this is still an issue. Once the ball is hit, the camera jerks and choppiness issues. Not a smooth playing game at all. When the batter walks up, the game pauses for moment for some odd reason.
-Announce team is often incorrect with their calls. I hit a batter and Joe Morgan went on to say "he did a nice job of getting out of the way of that one."
I'm sure there are more problems I didn't notice. It's pretty disappointing to see how far 2K has fallen in terms of the MLB games. It's not the worst baseball game ever but it does have it fair share of problems, many of which are inexcusable.
I'll definitely be getting MLB 08: The Show this weekend. It just seems to blow MLB 2k8 away in just about every aspect.

I've finally figured out the pitching system. It's something that takes a lot of practice. Even though I've got it down, the slightest mistake still results in either a double, triple or more often than not, a home run. Not much room for error.
