Talk about an ambitious project

I came across this game(it's an FPS) the other day. It's called 1944 D-Day: Operation Overload and it's being developed by a small group of people. They are attempting to recreate the D-Day invasion. That means recreating the entire Normandy area. It's going to be an open world where you can chose which battles you want to fight in, which unit you want to join etc. Apparently there will be 250,000 units to choose from, including American, Canadian, and British forces. The game starts on the night of June 5th and could potentially go until 1945 if play bad enough.

There are a bunch of FAQs for this game and I haven't had time to go over all of them but it's certainly an ambitious project that may not be completed until 2010 or 2011 do to their limited resources.

This is something I'll be keeping an eye on.

that would be very cool except that i see them resetting the game everytime 1945 is reached and that could be problematic
