Thats very interesting. The hype doesn't see through that though. At my store we have sold only a small handful of copies of Halo3 since Friday. We sold a ton of used games of all platforms this weekend.

I don't think anyone can argue that the Halo franchise has been very successful. You don't sell over 2 million copies in 24 hours and not be successful.

As far as where MC and Halo will stand as far as the all time franchises out there I think that is yet to be determined. By the time Halo Wars hits factoring in Halo 3 sales of 8 to 10 million in the next 18 to 24 months I think it is safe to say that Halo will be in the top 20 at that point. We could also see a Halo 4 based on how they ended Halo 3 so you never know.

In 6 short Halo has done quite well I would say. Just my thoughts.

It's feast or famine. It's scorching hot out of the gate and then again at holiday time then when it makes Platinum Hits. The typical day sees little Halo activity at the store. The sustained fever contains itself to a fairly small core of people that can play it.
