lol...Sony posted on their PSPConnect website a screenshot of what they say is "GT:HD", but in reality they stole the picture from "PGR3".
Ouch...that burns baaaaaad.

Sony took the PSPconnect site and forums down for a few minutes. However, it is spreading across the web like a virus. lol. Major Nelson was smart to take a screen capture of the site for all to see. The funny thing is that when Sony took the forums down, they forgot to take the G.A.P. forums down. Guess who posted in it.
lol....all responses were from G.A.P. mods and they were shocked at what Sony did and make some funny remarks.

Another lie Sony got caught in, I love it. Sony's starting this year off similar to how they started off 2006. At this rate, Blu-Ray will be dead by this time next year and home theater enthusiasts can rejoice.

Speaking of blu-ray UNSCleric, did you hear the following?
Since the transmit rates of blu-ray drives are so slow, Bethesda actually put "Oblivion" on the blu-ray disc twice to help reduce the loading times. So, here is Sony boasting about more room on a blu-ray disc for games, yet developers are needing to duplicate game code in various areas of a blu-ray disc to speed up load times. Umm..doesn't that make the reason for blu-ray a little pointless, especially since the game orignally could fit on ONE DVD disc?

Yeah I did hear that, I don't think I even did a story about it because I was getting sick of all the Sony BS for a while there. That kind of technique is risky too, as far as bugs and glitches go, especially in a game like that. Nobody will know the difference though, since the PS3 locks up regularly anyway...but don't worry, it's a built-in feature! Saw a sign at my Hollywood Video store today...
Blu-Ray rentals coming soon. No mention of HD-DVD.
It's far from over yet boys.
On a 360 related side note:
My local Hollywood Video (maybe others I have not checked yet) has recently added an additional dollar to the rental price of Xbox 360 games. When I asked the manager about it she said it was because they were having a higher rate of damaged 360 discs. She attributed it to people that kept their console upright. I am very much inclined to agree as we have been over this point many times before. For an additional 35 cents on the rental (for all consoles) they offer a protection plan to cover any damage.
INTERESTING.

Related to the original thread subject.
Are people suggesting that LIVE doesn't go down for minutes (or days) occasionally?
Whats the point?

I don't understand what you are asking? The sites went down first off due to the high volume of people trying to access them. Secondly, do you doubt that Sony would take them down for a little bit to change the web page?

No one understands it, because he never makes any sense. He'll argue against the main train of thought just to be the center of attention. Best thing to do is ignore him.
Let's get back on the subject of how much a joke Sony is, we already know our resident troll is one.

You mean just like the time LIVE became usuable when the first Halo3 video was posted? People couldn't get the content they paid for (like UNO which was also released the same day) for several hours because of that. 5 hours in my own case.
The point is you guys should act like it doesn't and hasn't happened to us as well, because it has. People celebrating over this are just silly.

no, no...it's not about the site being down  people are talking about the fact that they used an image of Project Gotham Racing 3 to promote Gran Turismo 4 HD content. that's what people are discussing. not the fact the site went down.

I was speaking only of the people celebrating the fact their service was down.
Of course posting the wrong picture was highly laughable.

Didn't you getting owned by the general population in the Resistance thread teach you anything?

lol.
My focus was mainly on the 'error' of Sony. The site going down due to high volume was understandable. The thought of Sony quickly taking the site down to switch it is 'understandable' too. What you may forget Sirharper is that Microsoft didn't take Live down due to a typo or erro on their part. They either have it down for maintaince or an unforseen reason. Shoot. The time that Microsoft made a mistake about releasing "Ultimate MK" early, they took it down as expected but then decided to go ahead and release early.
I think your 'focus' on the issue is on the 'wrong' part, Sirharper.

There can be no dispute on the fact using the PGR picture was 100% stupid and embarrassing on their part, that is why I did not discuss that aspect of the conversation.
What was also discussed in here was a site outage and Blu-Ray and those are what I was speaking toward.
I will disagree with your assertation that LIVE has not often been down through no fault of their own. It was down twice as long as expected due to problems with the last set of update they applied. That in no way takes into consiseration the fall update that bricked an entire series of consoles for up to 5 days.

Yeah but you have to also mention that it's new hardware and they don't know what they are doing yet, they already said it's going to be harder to make games on the PS3 than the 360.
I know as soon as some games come out that I want I'm going to get me a PS3, I don't care for that racing game so:party: :ele:

Everybody has said that, you know why? Because Sony isn't interested in giving developers easy-to-use tools to make amazing games, they're more interested in selling Blu-Ray drives, which are trojan-horsed into the PS3. The PS3 does nothing but hurt the gaming industry, with its insane development costs, and poor implementation of everything.

I'd feel more sorry for this guy (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=14477), who Sony fired for having an opinion.
"You could always tell where the PS3 dev box was because its the room that had the F-bomb coming out of it half the day," he added.
But the comments most likely to have riled Sony executives were to do with the PS3's technical capabilities versus those of the Xbox 360: "Ive also talked with people on the technical side of the Xbox 360. The consistent comment I am hearing from people on my end is, 'The Xbox 360 is better'," Robinson wrote.
"They are saying that it is capable of just doing more."
Robinson told PS3week that he asked at least two Sony employees to read the blog entry before it was posted, and even showed it to an SOE producer. "We were all in agreement that I was not breaking NDA with what I was saying," he said.
However, according to Robinson, he was "Let go at Sony after the article was plopped on the desk of Sony corporate. I was also asked to remove the article immediately, which I did without any resistance."

For sure, I bet that content isn't even publishing in-house though. Certainly a mistake worthy of cancelling a contract over.

Certainly developing of 360 is easier because little more than a modified Windows box running and old Apple processor. The devkit for PS3 is a wreck I've seen it. The rest of your comment is load of crap though. Blu-Ray is not a Sony format it owned and run by a group of leading makers like Samsung and a list of others. Seems to me Sony wanted Blu-Ray in their box because of far greater game potential looking forward. If it were as you say some Trojan Horse then that benefit is secondary. Not many people with good AV systems would use a game consoles to play media anyway. Great for college students maybe not not for home owners. You think Sony is hurting the industry, how? Why? Competition is good. Sony drives MS and Nintendo to be better. Saying the are hurting an industry they hope to profit from is foolhardy.

When did I say Blu-Ray was a Sony format only? It has yet to be seen if the forced $200 charge for the Blu-Ray drive is actually going to be used to benefit gamers. Like mentioned above, Bethesda has to use some odd technique just to get Oblivion to run on the ultra-slow BR drive. It's not meant for games at this early of a stage, and it's showing.
Also, how is Sony driving Nintendo and Microsoft to be better when Sony is innovating on nothing and copying MS and Nintendo on everything? They've done nothing innovative or new in a long time. The only challenge to Microsoft is trying to survive all of Sony's disinformation and lies.
Don't be like your friend Sirharper and put words in my mouth next time please.

LOL, here we go. The conspiracy theories start already.
For the record the only way I know Jake is by walking into his store. He wanted to listen to podcasts at work and I suggested U360. Thats about it, I never even knew his gamertag.
I think everybody will find him fully unbiased as his job requires he sell everything. I do know he has both a 360 and a PS3 at home though.
