A Little Letdown Myself(E3 Conference)

The conference was just ordinary for me. Halo 3 looked killer well as COD 4 & RE 5 trailer.No price drop kind of surprising & no tattoo.The beta announcement very nice indeed for COD 4,but nothing really stood out for me.What are your thoughts.Disney announcement was nice also.

I agree. With all the big games set for this year, what will Microsoft have left for the Xbox 360 next year? All they had that was really new GFW games and the arcade was pretty good.

They haven't done anything yet but show that they are desperate. At least wait until they have their conference before declaring winners..

This year there theme was pretty simple and powerful in my mind. Look at what we have coming out this year. Not 2 years from now or sometime in the future. Look what we have for you in the next 3 to 4 months.

This will be in sharp contrast to Sony. They will spend most of their time on titles that won't even ship this year.

Although I was not thrown out of my seat, I think MS did what they had to do. They kept the focus on here and now not a couple of years down the road. Their games lineup blows away everyone else out there.

I understand what your saying,but I want to know what you have planned for us.All the great games we have coming out this year do you have something next year.Will be hard to pull off the amount of great AAA games we have this year.What about Unreal Tournament 3 nothing

Ditto...this is just the MS press event and not the 3 day E3 event. They decided to theme it based on what we will give you this year which I think is a great move. May not be extremely flashy but it has substance and teeth for the competition.

During the next 3 days we will see previews and announcements of other games coming out this year and next. If you think MS doesn't have enough AAA games to spread throughout this generation I would say that you are sadly mistaken. The games last gen just got better and better and we have no reason to think it will not be the same this gen.

Nah it should be up, it was last night at least. I couldn't play it myself so I forced a buddy to point his cam at it so I could get an idea about it until I get a chance to play it. I have to say, it looks really good. The blending of cinematics and combat is impressive. Similar to Lost Oddysey in that regard.

Ask Thump I was on at 715 central this morning and the only available game download was freaking Ace Combat. He downloaded it also did they take it down after a certain period of time . I'm going to check again when I get home I hope its there.

It was the first demo I saw last night and then Ace Combat popped up right after. I forgot to queue up BD last night so I did so this morning. It is under the E3 content and under Blue Dragon if you look for game demos by the name of the game.

Check it again...more than likely you may have just overlooked it or it got added a bit later for your area.

I just remembered something I wanted to ask. Did anyone else want to kill Adam Sessler when, during the middle of the Halo 3 trailer at the end of the conference he asked "Are you guys enjoying this?" right before they cut to commercial and skipped most of it. In fact, G4 did it during a ton of stuff. Was forced to use their stream which, surprisingly enough, didn't cut out.

I never heard that. I read alot of folks complaining about the G4 feed and commercials. Other than a blackout in the middle of the Rock Band demo I had no problems with their feed. It worked fine.

I DLed and watched the PGR4 trailer this morning and I have to say it looks hot. The weather effects on the tracks and the cars look spectacular and the car modeling and Kudos moves for the bikes are off the hook.

This is a must buy for me and it hits in less than 3 months along with Halo 3. I will be one broke mofo after this holiday season. I might even be getting a divorce with all the time I will be spending playing my 360.

I doubt Sony is resting their entire E3 showing on one trailer, and we've yet to see what Nintendo will show. For that matter, there are plenty of third party developers for all platforms who have yet to showcase upcoming games. I'm just saying it's more judicious to hold judgement until everything has been shown.

Regardless of who comes out on top, a bit of good competition in the industry can only mean good things for us consumers.

I don't think that you can say Sony "killed" this year based on one trailer. Heck, based on that you could say MS "killed" based on the Halo 3 trailer they showed or based on any other trailer that was exceptional.

MS had a solid showing. They showed a lot of games, which is what is important. PGR4, Bioshock, Msss Effect, COD 4, RE5, etc all look great. Seeing some of the Halo 3 SP campaign was also nice. Overall, I don't have many complaints.

I don't think any of the briefings were bad or awesome. Microsoft could have killed with all the games they have coming and the opportunity to drop their price and bury the PS3, but as I expected, they didn't capitalize on it. Thanks to Sony sucking so bad for years now, Microsoft is now going to get a bit arrogant in their position, which means we'll be paying more $$$ for everything.

I'd say this E3 is a tie so far, with Microsoft being the only one who could be considered a winner, since they're the only one with the games this year.

I didn't watch the MS press conference, but listened to the audio and it sounded really cool and I imagine some of what they showed would have added to that. The only down part from listening came when they unveiled the Halo 360 console, that just seemed to die right there and felt more like filler. It just didn't come across with alot of applause or anything like that. From what I've read, it doesn't seem like Sony was that special and Nintendo seems to have done fairly well, but to see all that Wii stuff, makes me laugh, it just seems like a parody or something, hard to believe they are really making all of those controlers. I think Wii gamers are a totally different class of gamer if you ask me.
