Who are the gods this elder is refering to ? The ships mildy look like pelicans but I dont recall seeing those 3 lights on a pelican. What is the symbol he is drawing in the sand ?

I always thought the forerunners were a civilization much like "Romans" or "Sumerians". I think that still holds true.

These certainly dont look like the sentinels in the first Halo but could be the much larger ones in Halo 2.

I really wish they had all the Halo books on tape :)
