June 11 - Big Announcement from Sony?

According to an allgames.com Podcast, Sony is supposedly announcing something big on June 11 (yes, 2007). Details are vague, confirmation is unknown, and for all we know its just more rumor bullshit.

I doubt its anything to do with Killzone, as Sony has already announced that all will be revealed at E3 for the game.

According to the podcast, its something 360 fans can only dream of (which I dont buy). More fanboy bullcrap.

It must be a game as they were proclaiming it was real-time. Possibility of Killzone? Yes, but I doubt it. My guess is The Getaway 3.

I dont know, the realtime remarks do make it sound like KillZone 2 considering the amount of crap that came out of E3 05 regarding KillZone being CGI.

I'm with you. Whenever there is a "Big Announcement" rumored to be on the horizon from any camp it is usually bunk or not that big of a deal. Most of the announcements that are huge either come out of the blue or are released at E3.

No doubtingly it will disappoint some (or most). But if it has anything to do with an IP from Incognito (or any other of the big name first party devs Sony has), or revealing info about a big title (cmon Getaway 3), I'm all for it :)

Until the price drops for their console and their online service gets a bit better any of Sony's announcements are a bit "blah" to me. There, I admitted my bias. Just not a big fan of where Sony has gone to this point and where they look to be going. I'll pass...for now. ;)

I am not trying to stir anything up here, but I have zero complaints on PSN. Is it as feature friendly as Live? Heck no. But from what I have played online its lag free. Online play should matter about how the game plays online, not about features. They should be bonuses, not expenses. There are two features I love of Xbox Live: the ability to play online and Live Aware. Thats what my $50 goes towards.

PSN has online play and "PSN" Aware (I dont know what they call it), and I dont pay a dime.

Word is now that the big announcement was regarding Sony's new MMO - The Agency.

If true, I will be disappointed. I can give a rats ass about MMOs.

The "big announcement" (which was never hyped by Sony, but instead by allgames.com) is the first video of The Agency. Its a free MMO for the PS3 and PC, and supposedly it will have interconnectivity play (meaning PC and PS3 players playing each other).

Home will have microtransactions, at least thats the impression I got from Phil Harrison and the GDC demo.

He said something along the lines you can purchase new furniture, clothing, etc...to make your pad more unique. Thing is Home has no in-game currency.
