A surprisingly good game. I don't see what it gets all the hate that it does. Sure it uses the COD engine and has no multiplayer but it's well done just the same.

ya know i've always wanted to hear more about it. how is it visually? is the gameplay sound?

Gameplay is great. Realistic and requiring thought before movement, remember there are no automatic weapons at this point in history (other than the Gattlin Gun which exists at certain points like Troikas in GoW). There is a high premium on making EVERY shot count, a point which is reflected in the way achievements are set up.

Graphics I thought were quite good, many have disagree but I often wonder what exactly they are looking at.

I rented it from Gamefly and beat it over a three day weekend. It was a fun game. Realistic? I didn't think so. The guns were realistic, but it's just a run and gun shooter. The friendly AI and enemy AI was horrendous, I think I beat the whole game without using cover at all. Visually, the game looked marginally better than an Xbox game. It was nice to play a Civil War shooter, but it's nothing more than a decent rental.

It's a quick game for sure but far from a breeze if you play on Normal or Hard.

I agree here with Sir Harper, it is no way comparable to King Kong...

Rayven has it and I watched him play it, you would be better off to buy than rent because you have to go through and have to play as both the north and the south to get your achievements.

The game is pretty well put together, they really did a nice job with it.

But it is easy achievements if all you have to do is beat the game, even if you have to do it with both sides

Acctually, you have to get so many kills with a pistol, knife, etc... also you have to acheive a certain accuracy per level to unlock the it....

I wish it was because i would play it then!! :lol: Sorry my shooting is not that good yet to get 95% accuracy!! :lol:

But it is of course dependant on the gamer whether or not you like this type of game :flower:

I got the game for my birthday in November. I haven't played it much, but it was fun what little I did though. I am just happy it wasn't a space shooter.

on the hard level you deffinetley need to use cover and move slowly. you cant just run out and start shooting other wise you will be dead. the game is fun. you can get the achivements for noraml and easy if you complete the game on hard difficulty. but getting the accuracy is almost impossible on hard level. i did it on easy and then have been going back and playing the game on hard to unlock the hard and normal achievements.

For sure, you cannot run and gun it on hard.

I don't see the point in calling it a run and gun game though. Even GoW can be played in that style on Easy and Hardcore.

Depends on how each person plays I suppose.
