Where are my BG fans?  Morgon has set up MyGamercard.net to deliver a pretty cool Play & Win opportunity involving Battlestar Galactica.  He and Sierra Online are teaming up to offer a lot of cool prizes for playing the game in celebration of the season premiere of the television series.  If you don’t have the game, don’t worry because this weekend it’ll be a mere 400 Microsoft Points to download!

Battlestar Galactica

You’ll be able to track the gamers playing BG over at the official sweepstakes page with MGC.  Sign up and you could win!  And also, the more you play the game beginning April 10th, the more entries you’ll get.

I saw this on Joystiq early this morning and wanted to gauge the opinions of the U360 crowd on the pricing of Hothead Games’ Xbox Live Arcade title based on the boys over at Penny Arcade.  It’s called Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness and it’s been priced at 1600 Microsoft Points ($20).

So now I suppose we can say that along with having some of the highest priced content in the Xbox Live Marketplace, they also now have matched the highest price for an Xbox Live Arcade title.  There is a plan to deliver new episodes every few months yet no details on how much that will cost have been revealed.

They have rabid fans but are they rabid enough to produce yet another cash cow for the comic team?  Cash rules everything around me…dollar, dollar bill yall!

Penny Arcade XBLA

Slapdash Games is bringing TiQal to the Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow.  Players must demolish enemy block walls by matching squares of the same color and building them up to unleash massive combo points and mind-blowing power-ups.

Xbox Live Arcade

“TiQal” features 120 levels of easy to learn, yet difficult to master gameplay and 14 formidable power-ups, as well as multiplayer support for up to two players. Partner with a friend in the same room or via Xbox LIVE in co-op mode to rescue the village. Players will also enjoy sumptuous graphics and sound effects, as well as an impressive musical score.

Yay for another Tetris clone?

How much: 800 Microsoft Points

Yep, that’s right.  When this game first launched in December 2006, I wanted very much to download the full version.  It was really a lot of fun but I didn’t get around to buying that full 800 points version.  Starting tomorrow, it’ll be a more manageable price at just 400 Microsoft Points!  It’s debuting as an Xbox Live Arcade Hits tomorrow along with DOOM.  Both will be priced at a reduced 400 Microsoft Points.

Assault Heroes 2

If you haven’t tried the demo, then download this puppy and give it a spin.  You should do that soon especially considering the announcement of Assault Heroes 2.

The Beta frenzy continues with the first ever Xbox Live Arcade Beta test being delivered by Capcom!  Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers will be able to access the Beta test for the eagerly anticipated Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix when they purchase Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.

This will be the first time that a Beta test has been run across the Xbox LIVE network for a digitally distributed Xbox LIVE Arcade game. Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will be available this spring for 800 Microsoft Points, with the Beta version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix releasing shortly thereafter. The final version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be available for Xbox LIVE Arcade later this year.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

When an Xbox LIVE Gold subscriber purchases Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, they will also be able to download Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta when it is released shortly afterwards through Xbox LIVE Marketplace. This unique Beta version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will allow players to select from one of two Street Fighter characters, either Ryu or Ken, and battle online. This Beta test will help Capcom stress-test the network code underlying the incredible online features that power the multiplayer modes of the game.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix online modes include Player or “Quarter” Match, Ranked Match, and Tournament Mode. The Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta will run for approximately eight weeks.  Are you up to spend 800 Microsoft Points to get in on the Beta?

I enjoyed the first one so I’m pretty excited to hear about a sequel to Assault Heroes for the Xbox Live Arcade.  I’m hoping I’ll have enough points to grab Assault Heroes 2 as I never got around to purchasing the full version of the first.

Sierra Online, a division of Vivendi Games, will soon unleash Assault Heroes 2 for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Re-imagined for an even more intense arcade shooter experience, the Assault Heroes 2 game expands its horizons into outer space. New features include hi-jackable enemy vehicles, many more levels and an enhanced co-operative gameplay mode.

Ready to test your mind?  I’m really excited about Brain Challenge coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this week!  This kind of game is perfect for the system much like Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action was.  It’s a break from the norm and offers all kinds of silly fun while challenging the brain.

Strange Flavour and Freeverse shared the first look at their upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title, Airburst, with me today.  Yay for first looks!

Airburst XBLA

Announced in October 2007, Airburst is being developed in the U.K. by Freeverse’s partner studio, Strange Flavour. Aaron Fothergill, Managing Director of Strange Flavour, has said, “The power of the Xbox 360 is allowing us to do some really amazing things in terms of graphics and features. We think gamers will be very pleased with what we have in-store.”

I will admit that I had my doubts on this XBLA title when it released but after playing quite a bit of it this past weekend, I’m now an N+ fan.  The animations of the ninja are done rather well and it has co-operative play with up to 3 other friends.  It also has Xbox Live play as well as a level editor!  How much more awesome do you need?  It’s one of Xbox Live Arcade’s most enjoyable puzzle platformers if not the most enjoyable.

Who knew playing a stick figured ninja jumping around trying to escape would be so much fun?  With over 300 levels, this one is well worth the 800 Microsoft Points.

Capcom sent word to me last Friday that Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be heading to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, March 5th.  Join Nick Sion, Alec Mink and the Alliance of Free Planets in their white-knuckled, frenzied struggle to free the Solar System from the tyrannical grip of the Legion of Terra!
