I just wanted to remind you guys that the last day to upload your themes in the DP Content Creation Challenge is today!  I’ve only seen a theme from Bloody Baroness and myself on the U360 front. (shame on you design challenged peeps)  If anyone hasn’t voted for all the existing themes, then head on over to www.my360theme.com to get your vote on.  It’s been a really interesting challenge with a lot of great themes submitted.  The community has a lot of talent out there and I can’t wait to see which one takes home the grand prize.

Create Your Own Theme

It’s been a pretty exciting year so far here on the blog and show.  I wanted to check in on my peeps to see how you guys and girls are.  I had a pretty incredible reminder these past few days of just how amazing this community has grown to be.  All of you checking in from Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, US, Thailand, Spain, Japan, China, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Indonesia and all other parts of the world have been my motivation.  I’m hoping to do some more exciting things to keep you all tuning in, commenting, participating and having fun.

It’s so common in the blogosphere to simply post away and keep hammering the community with news, articles and such with no real regard to how the community is doing but that’s never been what I’m about here.  So how’s everything going out there?  Family okay, school okay, pets okay, life okay?

I try to keep things fresh and exciting around here so with the help of my good friend ZaaM, I’d like to introduce you to the latest addition to U360.  It’s not mind blowing but it’s ridiculously cool nonetheless!  (big shout to the codemaster, ZaaM)

If you take a look at your comments, you’ll notice a Gamercard feature that I designed.  If you don’t, then you’ll need to adjust your profile on the blog and add your Gamertag to the “Nickname” field.  I hope everyone enjoys the new feature!

Recap

- Behold your Gamercard in your comments

New Gamercard Feature

Where are my BG fans?  Morgon has set up MyGamercard.net to deliver a pretty cool Play & Win opportunity involving Battlestar Galactica.  He and Sierra Online are teaming up to offer a lot of cool prizes for playing the game in celebration of the season premiere of the television series.  If you don’t have the game, don’t worry because this weekend it’ll be a mere 400 Microsoft Points to download!

Battlestar Galactica

You’ll be able to track the gamers playing BG over at the official sweepstakes page with MGC.  Sign up and you could win!  And also, the more you play the game beginning April 10th, the more entries you’ll get.

I’ve gotten plenty of amazing feedback on the content U360 has in the Xbox Live Marketplace.  Some of it has been centered on not being able to quickly locate it.  I decided to cook up a quick video to show you all how to be a champion and find your way to download U360’s content in XBLM.

I appreciate those of you who have already downloaded the picture packs and I hope this video leads to many more heading out to grab the packs in the future!

I must say that a day like this is always filled with foolery.  I mean it’s called April Fool’s Day for a reason.  I figured I’d list what my favorite little prank on this day has been.  Fancy a new Xbox 360 Wireless Helmet?  Or perhaps a new Xbox 360 Recon Edition?

Microsoft Xbox New Spring Offerings

I laughed pretty hard on this one especially given the fact that some people actually believe this kind of stuff on this day.  What have you seen that’s a pretty good April Fool’s Day prank?  (yes I’ve seen the IGN Zelda movie)

Want to be frightened?  Want to be frightened for free?  My friends at The Game Reviews tipped me off on their Caption Contest for Condemned 2: Bloodshot.  You can win either an Xbox 360 or PS3 version of the game for coming up with the best caption.  You can check out the screenshot below.

Rules:

- Register to submit your caption
- Submit one entry per day
- Check for the winning caption April 4

Condemned 2: Bloodshot

Whenever I do one of my “best of” or “top lists” features here on U360, the feedback is always great.  My latest article about Xbox.com’s Super MVP feature led to some interesting emails with questions about the program.  I figured I would become Deacon, the Mythbuster, for a minute to give you all yet another great read.  (because I love you all so)

Super MVP

XMVPs are paid by Microsoft to spread Xbox love across the interwebs - Although I could use more money with the pay increase, the truth is that this is a myth.  We’re not employees of Microsoft so we don’t get to collect a check.  There are former XMVPs that have ended up gaining employment within Microsoft but that’s a different animal.  Being selected doesn’t bring any bacon home to daddy.

Some of you may know that I masquerade in Xboxville as a Super MVP.  I can lift large accessory cases with one hand and I can leap five stacked Xbox 360 consoles in a single bound!  It’s true.  Being a Super MVP has given me these wonderful powers that I use to uphold truth, justice and the gamer way.

Deacon

My friends over at Xbox have been celebrating a super hero theme for the entire month of March called SuperMarch!  A feature was just released highlighting all of the Super MVPs fighting for justice in Xboxville.  There are quite a few Xbox MVPs out there and it’s good to bring some light on the program with a very cool article like this.

Check out the feature as it gives a nod to yours truly as well as the Blades, my dark army of the night!  So read on as I continue to protect Xboxville from the evil plans of trolls, flame wars and cheaters.

There’s an old saying that cheaters never win and it seems like Microsoft is putting more substance to that saying when it comes to their Xbox Live and Gamerscore service.  A while back they stated something would be done about those who have gamesaved and cheated their way to a high Gamerscore.  Today they put the hammer down on those people and even gave them their own Scarlet Letter C.

Gamerscore Cheaters

Take a look at the Gamercard below and you’ll see how these gamers have been marked for all to see their shame.  There’s a Gamescore Corrections page to get familiar with the actions taken for those of you who are caught cheating.  Here are the basics of what will happen…

A LIVE player who obtained their gamerscore in this abnormal way will:

  • Find their gamerscore reset to zero, and
  • Be unable to regain all previously earned achievements, and
  • Be labeled as a “cheater” for the community to view.

Bravo is all I have to say on this!  I’ve never understood the point with obsessing over Gamerscore especially when you cheat to increase it.
