I almost soiled myself a little bit when I got the word from Sierra Entertainment that they released some free downloadable content for TimeShift.  It’s called the Futures-Past Multiplayer Map Packand it features five new multiplayer maps for players to unravel while annihilating online enemies with time-bending chrono grenades and 2 new multiplayer modes.  Each map presented in the DLC package supports classic multiplayer modes: One-on-One, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch.

TimeShift

And if you’re tired of the same old Deathmatch modes, it also includes two exclusive multiplayer modes, King of Time and Meltdown Madness, that they claim will reveal the future of multiplayer fragging.  We shall see about that claim.  The best and most ubertastic thing about this is that it’s all free!  Yes, that’s F-R-E-E kind of free as in you don’t have to use any Microsoft Points on them.

That’s 5 new maps and 2 new modes at your disposal.  What’s that reason again for constantly being charged for everyone else’s map packs?

Sometimes life is like a box of chocolates and you never know what you’re gonna get.  It seems like Sierra and Radical Entertainment are taking more time to fine tune their ambitious little project.  What was once an expected Fall 2008 release, is now a 2009 sighting instead.

To be honest, I’m very happy about this because the last gameplay video I was sent didn’t exactly motivate me to run to the end of the continent like Forrest Gump.  Hopefully with an extended window Radical Entertainment will be able to deliver on the scope of what Prototype was to be.

Slimer.  Gozer.  Venkman and Egon.  Who you gonna call?  Ghostbusters!  Sierra Enteraintment had a little portofolio showcase of sorts last week out in California highlighting their upcoming games and they shared a few tidbits of their show with me.  One such tidbit were new screenshots of Ghostbusters The Video Game.  Don’t cross the streams but you can view the screens!

Fresh off the heels of the June 3rd release news for The Bourne Conspiracy, comes a pretty exciting new trailer featuring some of the hand-to-hand combat and shooting abilities in the game.  I have to say that I’m looking forward to kicking some ass with Jason Bourne after seeing this.  If High Moon Studios can pull it off then we may just have ourselves a new action franchise that actually rivals its movie counterpart.

G, G, G…G-Unit!  Sierra Entertainment is bringing 50 Cent back to the game (literally) with 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.  I’m one of the people who surprisingly enjoyed 50 Cent: Bulletproof.  I still play it on my PSP in fact.  The screenshots for the latest Fiddy joint look promising.

“We are taking this sequel to the next level with exciting combat and gunplay, new original music, great graphics and a new story,” said 50 Cent. “50 Cent: Blood on the Sand will have everything my fans are looking for in a 50 Cent game.”

The 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand video game will feature multi-player drop-in and drop-out co-op, interactive counter-kills, driving, and aerial combat. Following the success of the 2005 Spike TV Video Game Award winning Best Original Song, “We May Be Crazy” 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand will be packed with more exclusive unreleased music from 50 Cent and G-Unit.

“50 Cent and shooter fans everywhere came out to support 50 Cent in Bulletproof and made it a multi-million unit selling video game,” said Al Simone, senior vice president of Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment. “Gamers will be excited that 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand provides the ultimate 50 Cent game experience.”

It drops this Fall so get ready to put the vitamin water down!

Sierra Entertainment dropped another Prototype goodie bag filled with a few new screenshots of Alex Mercer being the bad ass that we all wish we could be.  Be sure to hit up the developer diary to hear how pumped up the team is on working on it.  They got me pretty excited just talking about it.

From the floor of the Game Developers Conference, courtesy of my friends at Sierra Entertainment, comes new Prototype media.  Here are four (4) new screenshots and a developer diary highlighting the design of New York City in the game.  I’m ready to see what this Alex Mercer character can do in this game.  It’s like Crackdown mixed with Aliens and a little of Puppet Master mixed in.  Should be fun eh?

Check out the video diary.  It’s pretty interesting.

I’ll be heading out this week to a pre-release screening of the new movie, The Spiderwick Chronicles, courtesy of my friends at Vivendi.  It’s a fantasy adventure for the child in all of us.  If you’re in the Dallas area and you want to tag along with me and my daughter, let me know so I can get you in as well.  The screening is this Tuesday so be quick about it.  It should be a lot of fun.

The film ofcourse has an Xbox 360 title of the same name being released on February 7th.  The movie itself hits theaters on February 14th.  Gamers will be plunged deep into a fantasy world full of mystical creatures, joining the Grace children on their quest to discover the secrets of The Spiderwick Chronicles. Based on Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Films’ movie adaptation of the best-selling book series, the video game lets players take on the roles of Jared, Simon and Mallory Grace as they enter the hidden world of the unseen.
