Vicarious Visions and Activision are set to bring another round of the ultimate team game in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. It’s not your ordinary sequel as the Marvel heroes will have never-before-seen powers! Players will be able to “fuse” two heroes’ powers together to make some hybrid ability for ultimate destruction. (sort of like Voltron) I wonder what sort of attack that mixing powers from the Invisible Woman and The Hulk would create?
MUA 2: Fusion is going to up the anty on destruction. “The amount of destruction and violence going on down (in the city) is so intense that dudes are ragdolling up in the air” said Dan Wallace of Vicarious Visions. I’m a Marvel fanboy so I’m really looking forward to this one.
You read the title right. Marvel Ultimate Alliance is gold again. By that I mean Activision has released a new version of the game titled Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - Gold Edition.
It’s bigger, badder and has more Super Heroes in it. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition delivers a remastered version of the game and expands the game’s roster with eight new playable characters including, The Incredible Hulk, Magneto, Hawkeye, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Venom. (yes the ones previously only available via Xbox Live)
So for those of you who don’t own the game, you can get the entire roster of heroes and villains in this new edition. And for those of you who already bought the original version plus dished out your points for the DLC, well hey tough cookie. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - Gold Edition is now available for the Xbox 360 for $59.99 US. What say you? Isn’t the box art pretty?

What’s interesting about this is that Activision is offering a combo deal in addition to the two individual Hero and Villain packs. That’s a pretty good strategy. There are some restrictions on these as noted by Major Nelson. *The packs aren’t available Austria, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Switzerland or Taiwan.
Activion’s new Marvel: Ultimate Alliance downloads have begun to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace. A little over a week ago, Activision announced their intentions to unveil 8 new playable characters for the game as well as picture packs and themes. The picture pack (80 Microsoft Points) and themes (150 Microsoft Points) are now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace while the playable characters are expected April 10. Currently an issue with the Marvel picture packs exist and they’ve been pulled. As soon as the word is passed that the problem is fixed, I’ll update this article. *Picture pack is now working.
The expansion packs feature eight (8) new playable characters: The Incredible Hulk, Magneto, Hawkeye, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Venom, each complete with new signature powers, skins, dialog, conversations and achievement points. That’s right! There are more achievements headed your way as well.

The Hero Pack and Villain Pack will each be 500 Microsoft points ($6.25) and the Combined Hero and Villain Pack will be 800 Microsoft points ($10).
