I’ve gotten plenty of amazing feedback on the content U360 has in the Xbox Live Marketplace.  Some of it has been centered on not being able to quickly locate it.  I decided to cook up a quick video to show you all how to be a champion and find your way to download U360’s content in XBLM.

I appreciate those of you who have already downloaded the picture packs and I hope this video leads to many more heading out to grab the packs in the future!

It’s been really great offering content on the Marketplace for the community and even better that it’s been so well-received by the community.  It’s time to get your download on.  I got dibs on the N00B one, U360 controller logo, and the TGR #17 to represent for the gamer girls out there.  What am I saying?  I’m going to rock them all!

It’s available in all regions so Canada, UK, Netherlands…everyone enjoy!

360 Laws Picture Pack #2: 100 Microsoft Points

Here’s a preview for the second picture pack from U360.  It’s coming soon to the Xbox Live Marketplace and I think it has some very cool Gamerpics for everyone to use.  There are 10 Gamerpics included and it’ll cost 100 Microsoft Points when released.

I really appreciate the huge response to the first content released and I hope it continues to grow with each release.  It’s been great seeing so many people, even outside of U360, downloading the content.

360 Laws Picture Pack #1: 50 Microsoft Points

The time has come for you all to support the 360 Laws on a new level!  No, not the Marketplace.  I just came up with a few designs so you could have on message boards and other profile carrying websites you visit.  I’m working on additional batches so consider this one the first of many.

They’re pretty simple yet effective.  Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

“This is my Xbox 360.  There are many like it but this one is mine. My Xbox 360 is my best console. I must master use of my Xbox 360 as I must master the Xbox 360 Laws. Before all Xbox 360 owners, I swear this creed.”

Xbox 360 Laws

You all should be familiar with the 360 Laws oath.  Over 200 of you took it and promised to uphold the proper treatment of all Xbox 360 consoles.  (wink)  Now you can get a bit more familiar with the 360 Laws themselves.  Xbox’s own TriXie posted a new article in her Community Spotlight on the 360 Laws.

This past year has been a crazy ride and it just keeps getting better.  You guys are great as none of this happens without you!

360Zine is part of the Gamerzines network of electronically delivered emagazines about videogames and PC games.  They’re free electronic magazines delivered straight to your computer via Adobe Reader.  They’re completely interactive magazines right at your desktop.  The editorials in the online magazine are written by gaming journalists across the UK.  I’ve downloaded a few of the issues in 360Zine and I was truly amazed at what they’ve done.  It’s just as good as a hard copy magazine.  It’s only spread out across your desktop instead.

360Zine covers the Xbox 360 Laws

They’ve been covered by quite a few media outlets and now they’ve done perhaps the best thing of all…they decided to get ‘Unscripted’ and cover the Xbox 360 Laws in the 4th issue of 360Zine.  Woot!  I was really excited when I got the email from David Taylor, Publishing Director of Gamerzines, that the 360 Laws were the first feature of the new section called 360Zine Community.  Many of you have heard about the Xbox 360 Laws.  You’ve combed the community citing violation after violation to keep owners of the Xbox 360 in check.  I love the support and fun everyone continues to have with the 360 Laws.  I enjoy them just as much as it seems you all do!

I must say that the design and delivery of 360Zine is nothing short of quality.  I’ll get the team behind it on the show soon so the U360 crowd can find out more about the online magazine.

In the meantime, head over now and download issue #4 and any other issues you may have missed.  The 360 Laws grace page 33 of the magazine.  I’ve read through the entire issue and Deacon likes.  There will be more on 360Zine coming to an Unscripted 360 episode near you soon.  Thanks again to David and the team!

Like what you see?  Show some U360 support and subscribe to 360Zine here.

Here ye, here ye.  The Xbox 360 Laws have been one of the most pleasant surprises with Unscripted 360.  What started as a simple play on the Miller Lite Man Laws, has become quite the stir in the community.  Various people have been spotted citing violations throughout the community and various sites have been seen commenting on the Xbox 360 Laws.  These aren’t any official Xbox laws but rather something fun for the community to get involved in.

Xbox 360 Laws

What I’d like to do is put the finishing touches on the process by which new Xbox 360 Laws are approved.  I’ve been getting messages urging me to email new 360 Laws to the Council and so I’m going to do that.  This way, you guys and gals are well prepared to layeth the law down throughout the community.

If you want to or don’t want to be emailed about new 360 Laws, then feel free to email me or post those wishes etc.

Currently, there are 27 Xbox 360 Laws (7 Founding and 20 subsequent) as well as 166 members on the Council of Enforcers.  Let’s make it more.  I’ll see if I can bribe a special someone for a really cool spin on these laws so stay tuned for that.

A few days ago I gave you my reasons to own an Xbox 360.  I ended the list with a not-so official reason (Xbox 360 Laws) but a bonafied reason in my opinion that truly separates the Xbox 360 from others.  That reason was the Xbox 360 community.  I’m one of the people who believe that a strong community matters just as much as any technical reason for the success of the Xbox 360.

Xbox 360

So I decided to list 5 reasons why I think the Xbox 360 community is the roxxors.  (yes I said that just now)

DeaconBlade’s 5:

Members (you guys/gals) - I really can’t point out enough of you that make doing what I do personally here at Unscripted 360 any more enjoyable than it already is.  I’m sure I speak for those who work for Microsoft as well when I say that each of you is as critical to the success of the product as you are to the community itself.  Hey you all have some pretty interesting conversation and threads to read…that’s why I post so much.

TriXie - She’ll probably kill me for listing her in any type of list but I think in a one on one battle I’d take her so I’m not too worried.  TriXie’s involvement and passion throughout the Xbox 360 community sometimes scares me as she puts more of herself into what goes on than you guys and gals probably understand.  Plus she’s everyone’s favorite icon girl right?  Having someone like her to define and sculpt the relationship between Microsoft and community is a real inspiration.  Every community needs a TriXie.   I loves me some her…ok I said it.

Gamerscoreblog Crew - What is there to say about Tony, John and the crew?  Well for starters they’re about as goofy a crew as you’ll probably find on the web.  They know they have tons of information that the community needs and while providing that information, they do an excellent job of maintaining humor instead of the corporate boredom.  They’ve brought their jobs straight to the community really as they solicit feedback and act on several opinions right from Gamerscoreblog.  I’m still waiting on that thing you mentioned during the Lost Planet dinner Tony.

Major Nelson - It’s not easy being as open to the community as Major Nelson is.  What better place is there to get up to speed on everything happening with the Marketplace and the Xbox 360?  The community can always tune in to one of his shows to get some official scoop.  Beyond the suspect shirts he often wears, his drive to get you the information and response you need is another important community piece.

Blogs - I’m listing this because there are a ton of people from the Xbox team who maintain blogs filled with information as well as inside looks into their personality.  There are also community members who are doing their things to give the community yet another component that makes us different.  MVPs, on10.net, Wildchicken…there are way too many to list but the 360 community has definitely given new meaning to blogs.

Behind the scenes - Yeah okay so this is a 6th reason.  I didn’t want to forget the people that you often don’t see but are always there.  I know I’ve personally worked with some people on the Xbox team to solve issues and well they deserve a spot in this list as well.  There are even Xbox.com personalities that you may have missed who have some cool articles for the community to read.

So go ahead and get on board this fantastic community train!

I thought I’d make up a list since we’re nearing the end of the year and the holidays are upon us.  These are my own little reasons and none that you have to agree with.  It’s just for discussion and viewing.  But hey, you guys and gals trust me so pay attention.

Xbox 360

DeaconBlade’s  11:

Cost – If you’re looking to get into the next generation of gaming with high definition games and digital distribution of movies etc.  The most affordable place to do that is with the Xbox 360.  $399 US gets you in the game!

Gears of War – If you haven’t played it, I suppose you won’t understand.  But I’ve witnessed this game convert a die hard PS3 fan into an Xbox 360 owner on the spot.  Word.

Xbox Live – Is there any online network better in console gaming?  Friends management, selection of online games, leaderboards etc.  It’s a network that has no rival.

BioShock – I’m listing this because you just don’t want to have even a remote chance of missing what will become of this game.  The trailer at X06 was amazing!

Ease of Use/Setup – What?  That’s right.  Can a next generation console possibly be easier to use or setup right from the start than this?  Choosing a name (no random numeric # to remember here), having all your friends recognize you no matter what game you’re playing, getting connected to Xbox Live, purchasing downloadable content…all done with the controller.  And now you can even access some of these features directly from the internet.

Viva Piñata -  Did you think I’d leave this surprisingly addictive game off of my list?  No way, especially after I went on a personal Piñata recruiting mission.  Don’t miss out on the Piñata

Design – Who wants to be stuck with no way to customize your console?  There are dozens of faceplates and skins to make your Xbox 360 more personal.  And the design doesn’t stop with the console itself as you can customize the look of your Xbox 360 dashboard just the same by sticking a personal photo in the background or simply downloading a new theme or Gamerpic!  Are you in love with Gears of War?  Well show it by grabbing the Gears of War faceplate.  Easy peezy.

Xbox Live Arcade – The 360 isn’t fit for kids?  Please.  Need a bit of retro or some quick action with a not-so involved title?  How about trying some Pac-man, Cloning Clyde, Doom or Small Arms on for size then?  The Xbox Live Arcade is a bridge to yesteryear with a game like Digdug while being a breeding ground for originality for others with games like Cloning Clyde.  No matter your taste or age, you can find something quick and fun with the Arcade.

Xbox Live Marketplace – Game demos, HD content, TV shows, themes, In-game content, picture packs, new maps…you name it!  Trying out the latest game before you buy it or downloading one of your favorite TV episodes is all here now and easily done right in the Marketplace

Halo 3 – I suppose I couldn’t leave this little puppy out.  I will admit to being de-Halo’d a bit after Halo 2 but what I’ve seen of Halo 3, I can tell my faith in the Master Chief may well be restored.  You do not want to miss the ending of this trilogy!

Parental Controls – You can never have too much protection in this day and age.  To have tools within your console that help you protect your child or that crazy uncle you have from seeing or playing content that’s not suitable is a huge plus.  Protection is made simple with the Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 Laws  -  What other console has some fun and humorous laws to abide by that the community itself has made up?  Ok, this isn’t actually in the 11 but still, where can you find a community that creates and interacts like the one we are all a part of?

So shake your tail feather and jump in already!
