Gearbox Software burned a lot of midnight oil to make the 5th character class for Borderlands 2 available a week earlier than anticipated!  The Mechromancer class is available now for free on all platforms if of course you pre-ordered the game.  Without the pre-order you’ll have to dish out 800 Microsoft Points.

[Update] – Be advised that currently there’s a Compatibility Pack available with an incorrect price that is stopping players from playing online with the new content.  Until Gearbox Software fixes the price and you’re able to download the Compatibility Pack, you won’t be able to do any online co-op.
