Goodbye Zune, Xbox Music coming October 26

We’ve known about this change for a while but now we have a date when you’ll officially no longer see the Zune brand anywhere on your console.  Xbox Music is coming on October 26th and with it a few new features to help usher in the rebranded Zune service.

Zune customers will be transitioned to Xbox Music automatically while new customers can begin registration immediately upon launch.  Hopefully all of you owners of the Zune HD device will enjoy a smooth transition to Xbox Music.

Monthly subscriptions to Xbox Music will cost $10 while a yearly subscription will run you $100.  There’s also a free ad-supported option for streaming as well.  I highly doubt it’ll include downloading though.  There are a number of free streaming options available so Xbox Music has its work cut out for it.

Will you drop Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart Radio etc for Xbox Music?

Be awesome and share the link!
