What’s in my PAX bag?

I’m a nerd.  I’m a geek.  Let’s go ahead and get those two things out of the way.  To expand on those though, I’d say I’m a gaming slash electronic slash tech nerd type geek guy.  I like my electronic toys and devices that’s all.  Having created this site and having spent a lot of time within the gaming community, I’ve been fortunate to receive a lot of cool toys and devices.

Quite honestly, nearly everything you see me talk about on the site I use in the day to day business of running this site.  All of it helps me be a better Velvet Voice. (hahaha)

I thought it’d be cool to show you what’s in my PAX PRIME bag for those interested in knowing what I plan on taking with me on the trip.  So what’s in my bag besides clothes and toothpaste???  Take a look!

Plantronics Marque M155 – I can’t walk around with the phone in my ear throughout the show so the Marque will help me stay hands free while communicating with the various other nerds and developers on deck.  It’s also a sexy looking bluetooth earpiece so my ear should be very attractive to those walking by.  I have the black one but the white one is equally awesome.

Tritton Detonator Headset – I’ll be on a plane for hours and the Detonator is perfect to provide me with some great sound while watching movies and playing games.  One of the best things about it is that it doubles as an MP3 player headset and an Xbox 360 headset.  So you can use it with other MP3 players like the iPad while watching movies ya know.  It’s the best of both worlds.  Yes, I’ve replaced it for my Xbox 360 sound because of my new Warhead.  But the Detonator will remain in my collection because of that dual function.  I’ll be relaxing while the Detonator puts my ears in an audio vacation.

iPad 3 - I have to have something to watch movies on right?  The iPad bumping its retina display coupled with the Tritton Detonator Headset is travel perfection.  Right now I have The Adventures of Tintin, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol and Scott Pilgrim stored.  Any other movie suggestions?  And for the first time ever I’m actually going to try writing and blogging exclusively from a tablet.  Let’s hope it works!

GoFlex Satellite – Hit ‘em with the ‘Flex!  This little black storage beauty is essential for travel.  I don’t have to worry about packing all of my favorite movies because the GoFlex gives me 500 GB of freedom.  I don’t even get worried about the tiny 16GB I have on my iPad … not in the slightest with the ‘Flex by my side.  It’s wireless.  You can access it anywhere and it’s packed in a neat little device so it’s as out of the way as possible.  Did you hear me?  It is its own wireless bed of goodness that allows you to access your content anywhere!  At a restaurant and you need to hit up the ‘Flex?  No problem.  On a plane to PAX and you need more storage for movies and you need access to those movies for viewing easily?  No problem.

Sony digital recorder – It’s not a fancy digital recorder at all.  It’s a pretty ordinary one but it does the job when it comes to capturing audio.  I’ll be talking to a few developers so I plan to take some audio of it.  I might just talk into the thing myself when I’m alone in the tub or something.

That rounds out the few gadgets I’ll have in my PAX PRIME bag.  So although it looks as if I just get cool things to do nothing with, I actually have a purpose for every awesome thing I receive.  They all play a significant part in making me the best Deacon I can be for your enjoyment.

And of course if you’re reading this and you’d like to throw another cool device into my PAX PRIME bag, then by all means let me know with an email to deacon@unscripted360.com.

That tritton is nice. I can’t use my headset for the 360 nor my mp3 player sadly.
