I often dream of playing my Xbox 360 with a wireless headset that doesn’t require me to be connected to my controller. Not being able to truly make a wireless headset that is completely free of its shackles has been the dilemma for many third party accessory makers. However, not only are those shackles free now but one could argue that Tritton has burned those muthaflippers to the ground with its Warhead 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset! They’re the first completely wireless 3rd party headset for the Xbox 360.
“TRITTON’s Warhead 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset is a truly wireless solution – - no need to connect a chat cable to your Xbox 360 gaming controller! A robust 5.8GHz wireless signal ensures interference-free operation from other 2.4GHz wireless devices and provides crystal-clear audio at a range of 33 feet. Hear immersive 7.1 Dolby Headphone surround sound through a pair of precision-tuned 50mm speakers featuring Neodymium magnets. With two rechargeable battery packs for 24/7 gaming, one battery always charging on the base station means you can simply swap in a fresh pack whenever the headset needs more energy.”
This thing is an absolute BEAST of a headset. I got a chance to check a pair out a few months back during the Microsoft MVP Summit and I couldn’t wait until they hit retail. Well, they’ll finally be here next month on August 6.
These are going to go perfect with my new 3D hotness! The price may make some of you cringe but for the audio fanatics, these things are the best you can get. They’ll retail for US $299.
I’m preparing to bring an unforgettable ”war” to my ears next month … let’s go Warhead!
