XBOX LIVE Achievements = Free Microsoft Points???
There’s that warm feeling inside you when that achievement logo pops up on your screen as you unlock achievements playing your favorite game. Well, Microsoft looks to make Achievement unlocks worth something.
According to the XBOX LIVE Rewards official Twitter feed, there’s a program in the works that will get you Rewards based on the Achievements you unlock. Currently, the Rewards program gives out free Microsoft points for membership renewal, purchases on XBOX LIVE and other promotions.
We’ve hit 50,000 followers, which means it’s time for an announcement! Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!

Information is sketchy right now as far as what Rewards to Achievements will entail. We will have to wait and see this Fall if this dream will become a reality.
Or could this be more of an incentive to play more of the games we like ? What say you?

Sounds flapping fantastic! I generally play games for fun though and whatever achievements I get I get, this may push me into “must haz blank achievement” zombie mode. Hide your Face, hide your Kidneys… O_O

I remember when I first got my Xbox 360 trying to understand the whole achievement points/Microsoft points thing. I had it in my head for a stretch that earning achievement points would allow you to redeem them for DLC. I was so bummed when I finally realized that they wouldn’t! Now it looks like the dream is coming true!

It would be nice if they would give out rewards based on older game achievements. That would give me more incentive to go back and play them.

Best news to come out in a while from xbox. Although @Deacon, did you see the leaked report of how they intend to make your xbox the only entertainment system you need in your house. Pretty crazy all the graphs and reports they have worked up through 2015.
