I’ll say it here first.  EA has seriously FUBAR’d what I loved about Dead Space.  When the first game came out, I was smiling from ear to ear because I had a new franchise that truly captured that sense of horror.  Dead Space 2 began the decline with the addition of multiplayer and now Dead Space 3 finishes it off with action co-op.

Here’s a look at some gameplay from the game.  I love co-op but I can’t say that the mixture of co-op plus the heavy action element is what this franchise needed.  It looks like a mixture of Lost Planet and every other 3rd person adventure.  Isaac now does a barrel roll…really?
