YouTube, iHeart Radio, Verizon FiOS and more arrive
Did you think that the holiday’s were all about giving? Well technically yes but there’s a little bit of receiving fun to be had especially today for Xbox 360 owners as Microsoft unloads a crop of new toys for the dashboard. Among the new “apps” for the Xbox are YouTube, iHeart Radio (awesome), TMZ and more.
blinkbox (UK): blinkbox gives access to a wide range of movies online. With more than 10,000 movies titles movie fans can watch their favorite films immediately with no additional subscription required.
iHeartRadio (U.S.): Listen to more than 800 of the nation’s most popular live broadcast radio stations from 150 U.S. cities or create your own Custom Stations with the New iHeartRadio.

The apps are a bit clunky to the point that I rather just use the PC and mobile versions, apps are a new thing that 3rd party’s are building so as they adjust I’m sure the performance will increase.
The iHeartRadio app is pretty cool and I can see myself using it in the background while baking a cake.
The youtube app is cool when I have a video in mind to search for or to go through top videos but going through all my subscriptions isn’t the best compared to the recent list in the browser and it’s faster on my phone.
The Verizon app is cool especially when it gets more channels but again the clunkyness kills it for me. The transitions feel slow and the fact that hitting info while in a video stops it, goes to another screen then back to the video each step taking 5-7 seconds is a bit meh.
I’m excited to see how all of these apps evolve and what other company’s hop on board along the way. Don’t take my comments above as hating since I’m still using all of the apps, just pointing out a few issues of mine.
