Inner Circle, spent the night with Windows Phone!
A week or so ago my friends at Microsoft sent me an invitation to an Inner Circle event for Windows Phone here in Dallas. “Spend the Night with Windows Phone” is what the event said and spend the night I did! Microsoft knows how to put on a party and showcase their products in the best setting possible. I had an amazing time at the F.I.G. in downtown Dallas. The food was delicious, the music was awesome, the Microsoft representatives were extremely cool and the guests were plenty. I’ve said all that and I haven’t even mentioned how the Windows Phones had a shine throughout the night that I hadn’t yet seen before.

From the HTC Titan to the Samsung Focus S to the HTC Radar 4G, this was how a potential customer needed to experience a Windows Phone. I know that retail stores can’t bring the fun on a daily basis like this event but it certainly adds to the customer opinion when you can experience a phone in such a lively environment.
When I arrived at the event I picked up my VIP status and mingled with a Nokia rep while we waited to enter the show. He was pretty damn cool and it turned out not only was he a Windows Phone fan but he also was a big time Xbox 360 fan. We had a good conversation about all things Nokia, Windows Phone and Xbox. I knew then that this event was probably gonna kick much ass … and it did!
My first stop after the event began was to check out how Xbox Live was on the 4.7 inch behemoth known as the HTC Titan. I thought that 4.3 inches was my sweet spot but after handling the Titan, that may be changing. After playing with it and seeing how beautiful Windows Phone Mango ran on it, I’m ready to say that Microsoft should only show Titans at events because everything else simply pales in comparison.
..this was how a potential customer needed to experience a Windows Phone. |
The Radar 4G for T-Mobile was nice and the Samsung Focus S too but the Titan was just a beast of a phone. Playing Xbox Live on the HTC Titan was a thing of beauty. It makes the games and the Mango OS just pop so much more with the clear, picture perfect screen and smooth performance.
Would you believe though that the Titan wasn’t the biggest phone out there? For giggles, check this out.
Throughout the night people just kept coming and coming … it was packed inside. I didn’t expect such a huge turnout. Microsoft definitely has a strong Windows Phone presence in Dallas that’s for sure. I was giving out my own treats throughout the night as well with the Beards & Beaks codes via the Windows Phone Preview Program I’m involved in with Microsoft. I had one hell of a time!
I wanted to send a big thanks to Jake, my Microsoft MVP Lead, Cameron, Kathy, Alexis and all those who have had a hand in feeding my Windows Phone craving. The best part about the event was that yours truly, the Velvet Voice, will now be the proud owner of an HTC TITAN BABY!! Yep, I won one the new phone at the event. There was a network speed contest for your choice of Windows Phone and I’m happy to say that my 4G with T-Mobile proved to be amongst the fastest to send a specific tweet and I won the phone.
So as you can see, I had an incredible time last night. I’ll be reviewing the HTC Titan as soon as I get it and give you boys and girls a taste of Xbox Live on it. As always, stay tuned to all the things that Deacon in Windows Phone Land will bring!

Hello mister sir man! I want that Samsung Focus S ever so badly…. Out of all the phones it caught my eye the most, if they make a few tweaks to the Nokia Lumia 800 when it comes to the US I would be all over it but as of right now I want some Focus S.
Of course I need money for these things but I type like I’m a baller when I’m the internet. Next Gen Xbox is 1bagillion dollars you say? I’ll cop that.. :p
