Transformers: Fall of Cybertron coming 2012!

Can I get a hell yeah?  Boner alert!  I’ve been quite literally foaming at the mouth for a sequel to Transformers: War for Cyberton.  I’ve seriously slightly harassed High Moon Studios for a sequel via Twitter.  It was the best Transformers game I’ve ever played.  So when High Moon Studios and Activision announced Transformers: Fall of Cybertron I was beyond excited.

TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON takes fans through the final, darkest hours of the civil war between the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS as they fight for control of their dying planet, ultimately leading to their storied exodus from home.  The November issue of Game Informer will have a feature on it with never before seen artwork and dual, limited edition covers.  I’ll be getting one of them in the mail.  It looks like the Dinobots will make an appearance! #winning

“High Moon Studios is an extremely talented development team having raised the bar of gameplay and TRANSFORMERS authenticity in their games,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing. “TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON is an extraordinary project both for the studio and the TRANSFORMERS gaming legacy – the stakes are higher and the scale much larger than ever before, and we absolutely cannot wait for fans to see all the new characters and epic action that awaits them.”

“Hasbro has worked hand in hand with Activision to create a fully original storyline that details the climactic battles leading to the famed exodus of the TRANSFORMERS characters from CYBERTRON,” said Mark Blecher, SVP of Digital Media and Marketing, Hasbro. “Our team at Hasbro is looking forward to exploring and expanding the TRANSFORMERS story again with an incredible blockbuster video game that will blow fans away next year.”

After the last Transformers game from High Moon Studios, I urged everyone not to look into it as any indicator on what High Moon was capable of.  I told them to only think of War for Cybertron to get a glimpse at what they’re capable of because their last offering was likely a publisher deadline thing.  Fall of Cybertron should do proper in reminding everyone that they are fully capable of delivering another great Transformers experience.  Hell, I’m going to play some more War for Cybertron to celebrate the good news.
