RAGE in Dallas with id Software, win a signed cover!
It’s not everyday you can go into a store and literally unleash some rage but that’s what happened last night in Dallas when id Software kicked off the release of their game, RAGE. If you don’t remember, I enjoyed RAGE quite a bit during my PAX Prime visit this year. Tim and I talked about the burning Dallas weather during PAX while I laid waste to bandits. To say that I was eager to get out and hang with the id Software crew would be an understatement.
There was quite a crowd out to help celebrate the launch. What surprised me the most was that id Software quite literally brought the entire team and not just John Carmack (CTO), Tim Willits (Creative Director), Matt Hooper (Design Director). It nearly felt like an id Software breakroom visit. I took a few photos of the crew.
And I got the exclusive footage of the very first RAGE game being handed out by the team. You can peep the video below.
For those of you wondering about the space required to install RAGE on your hard drive, you’ll need roughly 22 gigs free. Check out the screenshot of my hard drive. I asked Tim Willits about the install and he said if gamers wanted to they could install just the first two discs and not install the 3rd multiplayer disc. One thing to note though is that he also said you’ll still have to switch discs even if you install all three. Installing simply improves the game’s performance. So to those who have issues with swapping discs, you’ll have to do it whether you install or not.
The game comes with two pieces of additional content that should give you quite the punch out of the bag. You get the RAGE Anarchy Edition Pack and the Wasteland Sever Missions. Have I mentioned that RAGE just might be the best looking game I’ve played this year? It is a BEE – U – TIFUL game.
And if you leave a comment here, you’ll be able to win a copy of the signed box art that was inked by the team along with a pretty cool RAGE poster! It’s that simple. Comment and win baby! I’ll pick the person who rages the best. (smile)
It’s time to get in a rage folks!

I stare at the RAGE case quietly. 22 gigs of space required to install. I look at my Xbox, with it’s 20gig hard drive. I believe we’ve reached a fork in the road old Xbox. Either you grow an additional 2 gigs of space right now or GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU THREE YEAR OLD PIECE OF CRAP TECHNOLOGY. TWO GIGS RIGHT NOW OR YOU’RE OUT OF HERE MISTER. DON’T GIVE ME THAT FACE, YOU KNOW THE ONE.
Sorry, Xbox just gets me so angry with it’s lack of space. I know it was born that way, but it could get corrective surgery or something, couldn’t it?
Thanks for holding this contest.
