One of the games I was really looking forward to playing at PAX was Batman: Arkham City. I don’t have to list the reasons do I? Batman: Arkham Asylum was the best Batman game ever made in like … EVER. The sequel had some big shoes to fill and I was eager to see if Rocksteady could pull it off.
Did they? Hell yeah they did. One of the things I wanted in Batman: Arkham City was more gadgets, more combos, fine tuned gameplay, more batlike action and well just more! I’m happy to report that it’s all there. Batman has more gadgets to use and a bigger selection of moves to employ as he puts boot to face on many bad guys.
One of the things I’m happy about is hearing that you won’t have to start over with collecting any gadgets. You’ll start with everything you had gained in the first game. There won’t be any progress connection or tie-in but you’ll have the same kick ass gadgets as well as gaining new ones along the way.

I will do my Best of PAX feature soon but I wanted to get things started with some fun. There were quite a few interesting things at PAX Prime this year that only yours truly would take the time out to notice. I wanted to give you boys and girls something a bit “not so technical” from the show and so I’m doing the “best of stuff that only matters to me” feature.
In this feature I’ll point out things that probably shouldn’t be pointed out along with a few that probably should.
Best Use of game content for your booth of the Show
Counter Strike: Global Offensive
They had a huge scope on their booth that was just all kinds of awesome. I took a picture in front of it because it just stood out. I wanted to position myself up to get a head shot on myself but I didn’t stand right. I guess that’s for the better right? What would you do with a headless me around here?
It was seriously a wild, wild weekend in Seattle trying to take in all of the event. If the below image doesn’t show you how crazy it was, then I don’t know what will. Take a look at some more awesome photos from the expo!
More PAX Prime photos from Dangerdoll here
It’s a tough job but someone has to do it. Video game expos wouldn’t be anything without booth babes right? I got a few snapshots of some beautiful ladies that were on hand at certain areas around PAX. I even got some photo time myself.

Well we all know that I’m a huge Gears of War fan and that I’m seriously looking forward to its release next month. Epic Games has decided to implement a season pass for its DLC content giving gamers what equates to a 33% discount on future DLC for the game and an exclusive Liquid Metal Weapon Set.
The Season Pass entitles you to the first four installments of downloadable content that will roll out over the course of the next year, with the first releasing this November. Epic has been pretty good with its DLC for the franchise but I don’t know if I want to dish out 2400 Microsoft Points for a season pass. Okay, nevermind … I’m going to do it because I love the franchise. And let’s face it, it sucks not having all the maps your friends might have. And it beats paying for them individually.
But then again, the history of Gears of War DLC suggests that at some point there will be another edition of the game with all of the DLC included and there will be discounts. So I suppose you should decide which route works best for you.
Here’s a quick look at the madness that was PAX Prime on Day One. Check out the massive collection of gamers waiting to get in as Dangderdoll and I walked in past them. Yes that was totally cool walking past the crowd and yes they wanted to smack us around for having a whole hour before they did to enjoy PAX.
Anyway…check out the video below. You can also check out a few photos from the first day here. All of the photos I’ll share were taken with my HTC Sensation 4G. I had to see how this phone stood up under the gun and it did very well.
