Kinect advertising, motion me this in the Nuads

We’re all no strangers to advertising but Microsoft is now promising that “Kinect advertising” will change television as we know it.  Will it also change our desire to watch television as we know it?  Microsoft has officially unveiled Nuads, the Kinect-powered interactive advertising platform.  Yes folks we’re about to get interactive advertisements on the Xbox 360.

“I often focus on the future of television, and the possibilities that future holds for advertising,” Microsoft’s Mark Kroese writes. “Today is a big day. I believe that the Kinect platform, and Nuads, will unlock the incredible potential of interactive TV, and interactive TV advertising.”

Microsoft intends to roll out Nuads next Spring so we have a full year to digest this.  I don’t know but I feel like I”m being kicked in the nads by Nuads.  I don’t want to motion my way around an advertisement.  I expect that huge ad space that’s currently in the center of everything with the new dash update will be a perfect spot eh?

I guess bills have to be paid somehow.  But I just don’t see any scenario in which I’d love to Tweet an ad to a friend or ask to be on a mailing list via Kinect.  Is that the “cool interaction” that Nuads will provide?  What say you?

Tweet this shit!

I wish they would take their initiative and put it towards a cool game instead of more advertisements. Or even fix the damn Netflix problem. I am still butt hurt about that.
