Battlefield 3, less frames for console versions
Happy Monday freaks. I guess it’s no surprise to see a console version of a game coming in as a slight underdog to its PC counterpart is it? DICE has stated that the console version of its game will run at 30FPS (frames per second) whereas the PC version will be a solid 60 FPS. This isn’t out of the ordinary apparently so I wouldn’t expect any quality drop off. I mean it’s DICE and DICE kicks ass.

DICE’s Johan Andersson said: “We always do 30 fps on consoles, not possible to fit in vehicles, fx [effects], scale and all players otherwise.” It is worth noting that Modern Warfare 3 is slated to be nothing less than a solid 60 FPS so what’s up DICE?

that’s not terrible

That’s not too bad as long as it doesn’t take away from the gameplay.

What’s funny is the E3 gameplay looked REALLY good.

No PC title has a fixed framerate, the hardware of PCs are as fragmented as my 5 year old laptop. Some may run the game at 20 fps at lowest resolution while some may do a solid 100 maxed out.
Also, MW3 has sub-720p resolution and small maps, no vehicles, no destruction and fewer players on each server, ofc the fps is better.

i agree with mr J. and 30 fps is not bad at all. its the norm. 60fps at 120hz is usually seen in 3d gaming and bluray/3d. mostly everything else is 30fps
