Skype coming to Xbox Kinect
Well Microsoft just purchased the video calling behemoth Skype for just around $8.5 billion. If you’ve been wanting some Skype integration in your Windows Phone or your Xbox 360 via Kinect, then your dreams are about to come true.

Skype will support Microsoft devices like Xbox and Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices, and Microsoft will connect Skype users with Lync, Outlook, Xbox Live and other communities. Microsoft will continue to invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms. So don’t worry my fellow Android and iOS users. (that’s at least for now)
What are the expectations for Kinect support? Could it replace the Video Kinect function altogether? I don’t know but I suppose the speculation will hold us over until we find out.

8.5 billion…not a bad sum for the creators of skype, wow. I like that it will soon be integrated with xbox live and kinect, that’d be nice. I wonder though, any indication that the monthly price of skype may go up at all?

Me Either Deacon. I don’t use it because it is another app that an existing app already does. Plus I use Fring on my phone so I can video chat with GChat and other IMs that support video.
God I hope a patch fixes that fuckup soon.
Skype talks to Skype.
I don’t MS will make it better, look how well they made the incorporation of Kinect with Netflix.
Oh and I think the better word is Geek not Nerd.
Geek = Technology
Nerd = Science

Nope me either Deacon. Thats why I use Fring. I can video chat with other instant messenger services and video chat with the ones that support video.
I think MS will drop the ball on this one like they did with incorporating Kinect with Netflix. I’m still bitter about that one. I hope patch comes soon and fix that fuckup.
I guess time will tell and we all will see how well this turns out.
