Battlefield or Call of Duty?
Let’s play a game. Which series do you prefer? The Battlefield series has been pretty successful over the years. I don’t even have to speak on how successful the Call of Duty series has been recently. This year the boys and girls at EA are seriously out to take down the beast that is Call of Duty.
Will fans help in the cause? It’s not likely. There are so many Call of Duty fanboys out there that at this point it doesn’t even matter how good the game is. If the name of the game is Call of Duty: Just Like Last Year’s Warfare, millions will still buy it. I’ve heard and counted numerious complaints about Call of Duty’s online aspect yet nothing stops people from buying it.
How will the new Battlefield do when it releases this November? I’m pretty confident that it won’t come close to the numbers that the next Modern Warfare will despite the $100 million marketing spree EA has declared they will use on it.
What say you? Which of these franchises do you prefer and which will you spend your money on this November?

From what I’ve seen from Battlefield 3, it looks like a worthy competitor for COD.Competition is always good!

I personally prefer Battlefield over Call of Duty but I love and play both games. Which I play depends on what I’m in the mood for. BF is a little slower, large scale combat with vehicles and a focus on teamwork while CoD is a faster/twitch shooter on a much smaller scale.
To be honest, I see them as completely different games and I wish EA would focus on advertising how DICE’s shooter is unique and not how it’s like CoD. I could also do without screaming kids on Battlefield.

I asked the same thing on facebook, but no one really responded. Perhaps I jumped the gun on the MW3 option?

I don’t think I have the quick reflexes and pinpoint accuracy to hang with the kids in COD anymore ( yay for getting old). COD4 was a pioneer, but the sequels haven’t really differentiated themselves since then. I much prefer the laid back approach to BF’s multiplayer as I can play support roles like medic that really benefit the team.
I will say in terms of campaign though, COD has BF beat by a mile. Looking forward to seeing what BF3 brings to the table for solo play.

All I will say Battlefield & COD are two different games. I feel Battlefield would have came out with actual maps packs instead of maps that was already on the Disk could have done better. BLOPS really churning out Map Packs that are totally different in scope but need to work on the network aspect of it. But I prefer COD. But really looking to see what BF 3 will bring time will tell. E3 MW 3 announcement.

By the way before you say anything about 1200 MSP for 5 maps, nut people will pay 800 for 3 maps. If you like the game you will pick it up and if you dont that why they give us choices

I have enjoyed Black Ops but I am looking forward to Battlefield 3. Kind of burnt out on the Call of Duty Series to be honest.

I don’t do much MP and absolutely loved the two Battlefield Bad Company games. The banter between the NPCs was great. I’ll stick with Battlefield.

I only wonder if battlefield is going to be launched on PC. Just what graphics card should I get.
