Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, New Creation Engine Screenshots
So I personally cannot wait for Bethesda’s next Elder Scrolls offering. As news filters in I get more and more excited. Now I’ve found a series of comparison screenshots that were included in an article written over at The Raiding Party Blog and “amazing” is all I can say.
We knew the new Creation Engine was gonna change the game but when you put the pictures side by side with Oblivion, it becomes a jaw dropping reality. The lighting looks better and the draw distance has been greatly increased. Character detail is on par with today’s next-gen standards if not better because of the great artistic models. The 3 W’s (water, weapons, and women) are way way way better! Dual-wielding weapons sounds like the combat system has gotten an overhaul so toss out that crappy wooden shield for a mace and sword combo. It seems Bethesda has taken all things RPG into consideration and have given us a winner…maybe even a GOTY.
Depth is really on display in this comparison along with a much warmer lighting phase. Take note of the broken tree on the right.

Wow, these look great. As long as guards don’t ALWAYS find you after committing a crime even when there is no one anywhere near you to see, this game will rock.
I spent over 100 hours in Oblivion and am looking forward to doing the same in Skyrim.

the new engine looks great and is just icing on the cake for me … I would have bought this day one regardless … words cant describe how large of an e-boner I have for this game …

I still think Oblivion looks pretty good all things considered. Skyrim is beyond amazing. I started to think we’re at a place where graphics don’t mean as much as they used to, but in this case it’s definitely making a difference.

i better be able to get this early because im such a fanatic about this series. just played oblivion over again… cant even count the hundreds of hours ive put in this game.. these pics are just jaw dropping, finally the girls look hot and the monsters are scary, those skeles are awesome
