Mirrror’s Edge 2 fails to reflect success, sequel denied
Another one bites the dust! EA announced yesterday that development on the sequel to its slow-starting IP Mirror’s Edge will no longer be continued.
Mirror’s Edge 2 had been in development at DICE for some time, but prototypes were deemed “disappointing” when shown to EA. While Dice is responsible for the wildly popular Battlefield series, no amount of name recognition could save Mirror’s Edge 2. Maybe it’s even bad luck to break a mirror in a picture.
I know a lot of you played the first offering and it was viewed as a new kind of game and something outside of the ordinary FPS spectrum. So I wanna know if you’re disappointed or were poor sales and limited following a reflection of this mirror’s fate?

this sucks! i enjoyed the first one but i knew the money return wasn’t quite enough.

yes i am disappointed in the decision they made, but its been put on hold, not canceled right ?

I too am disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the first game and was looking forward to the next.

I really enjoyed the first one, especially beating it with using a gun. It’s a shame there won’t be another.

I really have no opinion. Never tried the first one cause I heard bad things from some friends. Maybe I will give it a try.

I still don’t read that this is cancelled, it just seems the game has been shelved for the time being until they get time to work on a new prototype.
Mirror’s Edge 1 is one of my top 5 games of this generation and, despite a few flaws, is an amazing game. More developers should try outside of the box games like Dice did with ME.

yep, i certainly hope that it wont be cancelled. I started looking up to EA again for trying out all these new IP’s.
