Earn points for referring friends to Xbox Live Gold
Do you have a lot of friends who are currenlty Silver Xbox Live subscribers? If you do and you feel like you can talk them into getting Xbox Live Gold, then you and your friend will score 400 Microsoft Points (and possibly more). If you read through the official rules, you’ll notice that the rewards for referring a friend range from Microsoft Points to Xbox Live Arcade games.
You can check out the Refer-a-Friend Xbox program here. It looks like there are up to five (5) slots for referrals when you attempt to complete the offer. When you refer a friend they’ll even get a little discount so it’s likely they won’t be paying full price in whatever option they choose.
What say you? Is your marketing hat on and can you sell your Silver friends on Gold for 400 points? You’ll have to get your referrals in before the promotion ends on June 30, 2011.

This could be really neat. I haven’t gotten to look at all the rules but can you choose the reward you want? or does MS?

Limit: Each participant may receive each offer one time during the Offer Period. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any participant to receive each offer more than one (1) time by using multiple/different email addresses, Xbox LIVE accounts, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant’s offer and that participant may be disqualified. All referrals are subject to verification and the Offer will be fulfilled within sixty (60) days of the completed referral. Each offer expires thirty (30) days after receipt.
So are we(the gold member) considered a participant? If so then we refer 5 folks and can only get one reward each time. Maybe I am reading to fast and incorrectly *shrug*

you can get the points from each person you refer once and yes you are the participant
so refer 5 friends get possibly 2000 points. and you can refer daily up to 5 people.

Cool idea for people who get others to join. Unfortunately everyone I know that would is already on live.

Dangit! This wouldve been good like 1 or 2 years ago but now everyone has Live basically. Especially in Seattle near MS HQ.

Wait, can this offer be used when a friends Gold account runs out and they revert back to Silver?
It actually does sound a lot better than the Wii referral reward program. That was bollocks as me and Nan found out, haha.

Have a few friends that have procrastinated and not renewed their Gold yet for like a month or two. Plan on cashing in on them with this when the do.
