Operation Hastings unlocked anyway, Happy New Year
Well there’s at least one publisher out there trying to start the new year off right. EA has decided to unlocked the Operations Hastings map for Xbox 360 and PS3 players despite the fact that we didn’t “earn” it. Console players didn’t come up with the necessary requirement to unlock the map but hey…gaming is gaming without the strings says EA.

“The Community Challenge was won by the PC players who managed to reach the 69 million mark first of all three platforms. But, since we want to start this new year with a big of a bang as we ended it, we are enabling Operation Hastings for the PS3 and Xbox 360 as of today! So cancel all your plans, turn on your tv’s, fire up your consoles and let the Battle For Hastings begin!” – EA

Nice. How unlike EA to give something away.

Yea I was shocked too SugarRy. It improves my image of EA actually. What’s next, Activison will strt caring about something other than their own wallets?!?!

Oh and I can’t see the image. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m on my iPod but I only get a small blue box with a ? in it.

LOL @NP. As much as I would like it, I dont think Activision will follow pattern.

Haha here’s to wishing. And I can see the picture now!

lol, wishing, its more like selling your soul to the Devil to get Activision to give something away. They still charge for COD2 stuff. That should be free by now.
January 4th, 2011 at 10:46 pm
Hahaha. Yea I checked back a month ago when I was playing some CoD 2 for the good old days. I was shocked to see it was still being charged for. I’m pretty sure they’re not making any money off it anyways, and it would generate lots of good PR if they made those free. CoD 3 needs to be free for the maps too.

No kidding. There is barely and online community for those games so who would buy the maps if there is no one to play with. Would be better off just giving them away and getting a little bit of good publicity.

They’re just too money grubbing.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:21 pm
Yep. Sure are. Activision is the reason map maps now cost 1200 which I think is overpriced.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:22 pm
Oh, and I stuck to my word of not buying any MW2 map packs for 1200 because of IW. I will buy the ones for BLOPS though since my mini protest mad no affect.
January 10th, 2011 at 8:51 am
Same! Plus the MW2 maps were a much worse deal. 2 ported maps with little or no change, so it was 3 maps for $15, and there’s no forge/customs that would make 3 maps worth it like when Bungie makes them. With Blops they are 5 brand new maps I believe.
