Tell us what your life is like when you’re not gaming.

Well right now I am an engineer by trade living in San Diego, CA.  I’ve worked as a systems engineer and I’m currently working on getting new employment.  I’ve been in the defense industry for about three years, working for Boeing and Lockheed Martin. 

How did you come to be known as TrevL85A2 x360a?

Originally my Gamertag was TrevelyanL85A2.  I had to shorten it when I became a representer for xbox360achievements.org, which is why the x360a was in there.  They help to promote the site and help promote good gaming, similar to the Xbox Ambassador program.  I’m not a representer anymore but I can’t change my Gamertag back due to the restrictions of the XBL Ambassador Program that forbids changes as it’s hard to track such things.

As to why I chose TrevelyanL85A2…well the first is a reference to 006, Alec Trevelyan of the film Goldeneye, as for some reason I liked the character even though he was the bad guy.  The second part, L85A2, is the current service rifle of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces of the UK.

How long have you been an Xbox Ambassador, what has this experience been like for you? 

I have been an Ambassador for at least eight months, since January.  It’s been a great experience.  I have helped many gamers deal with issues relating to connecting to LIVE, or dealing with unruly gamers, and even helped calm down tensions when people were arguing at each during party sessions.

One instance that stood out during my time as an Ambassador occurred one time during Gears of War 2, during their 8x XP event in honour of E3.  One gamer in the party was asking for help to a pre-calculus problem, and even sent a picture image of what he had so far.  Seeing as I was very good with calculus-based math I was able to help him with the problem and lead him to the steps necessary to get the answer correctly, as he was stumped with it.  It’s the first time I’ve seen anyone ask for homework help over LIVE. 

What do you like best about the Xbox 360?

The ability to not only enjoy great games, but to enjoy other activities online, from gaming to watching movies or simply just chatting in a party.  I met at least a few people in the San Diego area over Xbox Live and I even re-connected with old friends through Xbox Live, especially now that Facebook, Twitter, and other social media applications are becoming a big part now. 

Of all the game characters out there which one do you think is the most like you?

There are a mix.  I would say the one that closely resembles me would probably be a mixture of Sgt. Avery Johnson and Thel Vadam AKA the Arbiter from the Halo series. 

What is your favorite game and why?

Overall, I would have to say Halo: Reach, followed by Halo 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.  I like these games because they have an interesting storyline, and the added replay value that comes from the immense multiplayer action.  For Reach, there’s Firefight and regular multiplayer matchmaking, along with co-op matchmaking coming soon, so the replay value on this game is very high indeed. 

What achievement took you the longest amount of time to earn? How long did it take?

The longest achievement that took me the longest to earn was Veteran Gear for Gears of War 2 (Get up to Level 100 as your XP level in multiplayer).  That achievement took me over 70 hours to grind through and complete.

 Just for fun, if you were stranded on a desert island who would you like to be stuck with and why?

My two dogs who have passed on, and my best friend.  My best friend is a very good hunter, and my dogs are very good hunting dogs since that’s what traditionally they have been bred for.  One was part Chow Chow, part Samoyed, and part Golden Retriever.  The other was part Golden Retriever, and part Yellow Labrador Retreiver. 

Ok. One Shot. What game are you playing, who are you playing, who wins and why?

I am playing Halo: Reach with DeaconBlade, BPD 007, The DangerDoll, and Nanakai.  We win a round of Team Slayer because we are the best at what we do. 

Any final thoughts or words?

Yes.  Play hard, play fair, be a good sport.  Don’t curse at others, don’t let children play violent video games.  Respect each other, your elders, respect the women, and most of all, respect your military personnel.
