Kinect fizzles in Japan, sells 26,000
Kinect launched with reasonable success here in North America but it appears our brothers and sisters in the far East aren’t at all excited about using their body as the controller. Perhaps it’s still a Nintendo dominated land after all. They appear set on waiting for the next Wii to drop moreso than investing in any more “new stuff” from Microsoft. The sensor only sold 26,000 copies at launch.
There are no Kinect games in the top of sales in Japan and the hardware (Kinect bundle) is about as popular as those strange looking finger socks. Sony Move isn’t doing so hot but it managed to double up Kinect sales. What does this mean? Nothing. I just thought it was interesting news.

Japan is so anti-anything not Japanese made it’s ridiculous. I played Kinect for th first time at a holiday party, and everyone had a blast. Any age, any size, didn’t matter if they were gamers or not. It was just straight up fun and didnt get old quick like the Wii.
